Mephisto Genetics White Crack and Kis Organics Soil

@slowandeasy ...... Your girl is looking so nice why worry about the water, RO seems to be working just fine ..... But tap should also work just let it sit for 24 hours to dispel any chlorine ..... Not sure why cal-mag would be used but give it a try, seems you are complicating matters and thought you wanted to KIS?

I like the idea of two in one pot - There is 7.5 dry gallons of soil in the Earthbox which should be enough for the smaller strains, guess we will soon see .....

Looks like the CC are serving you well, easy as pie to decorate your tree!

Peace,
MOB

The person who makes the soil says NOT to use RO WATER by itself. Tap water has some Calmag in it and is more pH stable. I am not comfortable trying on such a nice start on a healthy girl. Adding 2.5ml of Organic Calmag is more of a preventative measure. That is not overcomplicated. That is knowing exactly the amount of little Cal-Mag if the plant needs it for Flowering and using COBs. Using tap RO mix on a couple of seedlings. If they do well, I will continue with them on the 50/50 tap RO mix til harvest. I'm more concerned with Chlorine in tap than adding a couple ml of Organic Calmag.

Amazing growth ....... May wanna let her grow straight up, no room left on sides!
Yes the plan is to let her grow straight up now. I have other tents if she gets to cramped. I want to see what she can do alone in this space. It is a little smaller than a 4x2 tent. Like 36x20 or something, I will measure it. Regardless, she can only grow towards the feeding tube a little more and straight up. Looking at the plant, she is fixing to flower and stretch. Bring it on I say. Today is day 34. I will be taking a couple of very bottom leaves here and there, to clean it up.

My 24 day old Roc Bud Inc strains are blowing up. I will remove most of the Candy canes from White Crack and start to train these girls. However, they are much more of an open structure they won't shape up like White Crack. I need to probably tie down the tops, like I did with WC. To initiate the candy can training, they will need to become a little more level. I will try candy cane, but most likely will tie the top down for a week or so to get her going in the right direction. Peacez slowandeasy

Just made a 1/2 gal of water with 2.5ml of Roots Organic Calmag. It is lower in EC/PPM by almost half of my Tap water. That is at 5ml per gal of Calmag vs Tap. So 50/50 tap RO should be about the same as 5ml per gal ot Calmag. I will trust the RO water and Calmag mix on my big girl over Tap/RO mix. But will try it on a couple seedlings. If they do fine, a big plant will. I leave the Tap mix sit 24 hours before I will try it. Later tonight. As long as any Chlorine is gone, it doesn't bother me to try. But I dont want to effect my nice plant in case. I would rock RO by itself before I tried Tap only on this plant. Anyways, the Roots Organic water will be fed to my 3 Bigger plants. That is not much, so it should be fine. Like I said, more of preventative measure. Since Tad said RO was NOT optimal. We know RO worked fine for veg. But if the owner says it's not optimal, I will listen and try it out .

I think it's a much safer move than 50/50 tap ro and won't hurt a thing.
No more beautiful well water for me with my move, so I'm interested to see how this works. Especially since I'm the second customer in line on a rural water system. STINKY DAMN CHEMICALS!

Edit.......Your girl looks very healthy!

I wouldn’t change anything with White Crack, she is doing exceedingly well ..... cal issues often associated with nitro and green growth and for sure you don’t have that, she is beautiful ....

Finely ground oyster shells top dressed may help and/or some Dolomite Lime sprinkled on top and spayed to help start process, if you like for cal issues ...... And some Epsom Salts added to water for the mag issue once flowering starts .... I do add a sprinkling of oyster shells in my initial pots .....

Chlorine in tap not even an issue if you let sit 24+ hours for sure ..... Good luck!

Well I will be trying the 50/50 mix on a few seedlings. But don't want to try it on Big WC. Let the mix sit for 24 hrs. Like you say, it should be fine. But I'm a hydro grower trying Organics. I trust my RO water, and don't mind using a tiny bit of Cal-Mag for preventative measure. It is no different than adding Mammoth P. Is it necessary? No. Will it help? Maybe? Will it hurt? No.

Thanks for the reply MOB! I am I awe of this plant. It is doing so good. She is growing up fast. I took off a lot of Canes. Put a few on the front to make it level. But she is gonna grow UP from now on. I fed with the Calmag water. She is definitely growing. Taking 7 of my 9 oz cups. She will be up to a gal per day in flower for surely. She is getting her pre-pre-flower look. That's right before they preflower hard, they get "The Look". I really want her to remain in that tent til harvest. But if I have to, I will move her. We will see what happens.

I took a lot of Canes off of the plant and started with the Roc Bud Inc strains. The Diesel Cookies only needed 1 Cane. The Roc Dawg Funk took 2 on the main. RDF is much thicker of a main stem, both are more open structure than the White Crack. So training will be different. They are on day 24. Ordered more Kis Soil. And have 12 more Juniors now. So we will see how it goes. Starting 2 Sour Crack seeds soaking tonight. I want to see what the Fastest strain I have does speed, Quality and Quantity wise. Gonna run 2 plants in the same pot. Peacez SLOWANDEASY

@slowandeasy
Ask Tad or maybe its in the ingredient list for your soil, but if it has dolomite lime in the mix. You will have plenty of calcium and magnesium. Usually lime is added to peat based mixes to raise the pH of peat which is naturally a tad on the acidic side and also help with buffering of the pH. Some mixes use oyster shell flower, which only supplies calcium, but other ingredients in the mix probably have enough mag for a soil grow.
The reason most guys use RO in living soil is their water is high in carbonates. It usually isn't a problem on the soil's first run, but on successive runs of the same soil, there are too many carbonates and the pH among other things gets too high.
If you are on city tap in the US, you can get a free water report from the utility, its usually online and is required.
As far as being worried about chlorine, or chloramine; when either come into contact with organic matter it is basically neutralized on contact. There isn't enough chlorine to actually make it into the soil and kill any micro life. With your growbox setup, the chlorine will be immediately neutralized in the res while trying to control algae etc in the res itself.

I'm not saying change anything you are doing now, but knowing if there is lime in the soil, and knowing how many carbonates are in your water will be useful if you plan to run multiple grows with the same soil.
Your WC is just gorgeous my friend! I love watching what you have been doing lately.
cheers
