For surely, sidelights help. . I have tons of Cobs, but they are pretty strong for this small area. The lighting that I got for this is not as strong and I can keep it much closer in this tent. I don't even want to turn on my other Cob. I don't think the plant needs it on top, but the sides will benefit once she stretches a little. In my Larger spaces I could put a cob on an angle.and keep it's safe distance away.I feel side lighting is a game changer. Especially for the big plants that some of us grow. I use cobs as side lights. They are individual cob/heat sinks on yoyo hangers that I can angle and aim into the lower canopy from the side. I feel you can get away with less defoliation, and reap bigger and better buds from the middle to the bottom. Side lighting makes laying branches out flatter with candy canes or staking super efficient. Light not only penetrates the side it is shining directly on, but also adds lumens to the opposite side in close to the mainstem.
I just use 1 cob as a side light, so part of my routine is to turn my plants a 1/4 turn 2x a day. With the 4 legs you have you get to pass on spinning platters.
cheers
