Im trying another idea. 16hr full lighing, 2hrs 1/4 to keep temp up enough the off time doesnt get too cold, at same time allowing me to have all vents closed and fans off so that 6 off are without any light and stay 68 inside.
Why would you turn your fan off.. it is a good way to have mold problems

It is simply a nature thing, where virtually all the ruderalis genes we get the autoflowering trait from grow at the northern most lattitudes, where they basically get 2-3 months of 24 hours of contiuous light because it never gets totally dark in the summer.

I'm veering towards thinking 24/0 is best, but is this point about nature actually true? You would need to get up to the arctic circle to get 24 hours of daylight, and that would only be on the longest day (21st June usually). If you look at sunrise and sunset for St Petersburg, they're only getting 19 hours on the longest day. The rest of the time is nautical and civil twilight, but can the plant actually use such little light?

just started my second ever grow. first attempt with autos. after reading this ive decided to go 19/5 just cos nobody else does. why the hell not eh : )

I do 19/5 on my Autos. I was torn between 20/4 and 18/6 so I used the average. Last Auto Cheese; 115 dry/cured grams off of 1 plant.

Nobody does 19/5???,lol I guess the weird, odd numbers scare people..I veg 24/0 for first 14-16 days under MH.On the day I go 19/5, I switch to HPS.The plants 1st experience of darkness, is matched with the 1st exp' of HPS light.I have seen my auto's ,any strain.Including Barneys Sweet Tooth, trip to flowering aggressively when I use this method.Mang I'm high...:bong:
I know a few people who do 19/5 maybe just shows there's no definite answer

I start all my auto's at winter that's on of my favorite time's to grow. when temps can be easily controlled using lamps heat ,i run them for a week or till all seeds hatched on 24\0 did notice tad faster grow for first week on 24\0 from other light schedule. its good for who don't run high wattage , i veg with 150hps +150 leds ,+250 hps flower all thorougher. so it keep my temp up when cold .when i do go for 20\4 i set of timer to day time so house bit hotter then nights.
