Really interesting video, Thanks for sharing. Making me think of adding some blue spectrum LED strips between my plant rows to increase water and nutrient up take.

I thought the buds improved significantly as far as potency, density etc, in total darkness?
I understand the concept of autos not needing the shorter days ( what the 12/12 mimicks) to trigger budding, but I didnt think autos chsnged the fact how the buds developed in darkness?
Would it not then increase potency to run longer dark cycles the last couple weeks while the crystals form? even to the 12/12 cycle?

just started my second ever grow. first attempt with autos. after reading this ive decided to go 19/5 just cos nobody else does. why the hell not eh : )

I should snap a picture of my timer. I run 19/5 as well. 18/6 and 20/4 seem the norm so I went between and been doing it now for ages. 12noon-5pm hottest times of the day. Works best for summer and winter months.

im not exactly the most experienced but i done a shit load of research before starting this one as doing nft and didnt have a clue what it even was. most reliable looking sources say the the roots grow a lot when the lights are off. like going to the gym. if you dont let your muscles rebuild then its just rip, rip, rip. wich will usuall lead at some point to a fucked shoulder or leg. seems logical enough to me anyway. so ill be avoiding 24/0. be an extra 2quid a week on the leccy meter too haha

Good luck to ya @EvilScotsman. I have been using LED's 24/7 for over 3 years now. The only time I have ever turned them off is
if I had to rearrange them or a power outage. I can assure you that my plants get ripped as well as me after I burn them. Now I am
moving into COB LED's and I can't wait for the monsters to grow. My advice is along with research try a few experiments.
Here try one of mine.............:pass:
nice eh?........I 'm gonna hit the ROOR with it.

:frog::pass:i'll pass a puff to that mate : ). tbh ive seen loads of people saying that they keep them on 24/7 woth great results so i know its obviously not the "wrong" thing to do. nothings wrong in growing as long as you learn not to do it again lol. i dug about into it though, looked into auto genetics etc. a familiar story i was getting is that the ruderialis strains used to cross that naturally grow under 24/0 sun, although very hardy, and therefor good to have in the mix. they are generally pretty lacking in thc. the ones that grow naturally under 18/6- 20/4 tend to be higher in thc. not saying im right, at the end of the day im pretty noob. actually, im gonna go look and see if i can find anyone whos done a properly regulated experiment..... tbc.:frog:
