Lighting What's the best lighting cycle for autos - 24/0, 20/4 or 18/6

Don't kid yourself. I grow auto's mostly. Many strains produce THC that Cheech and Chong would be proud of.
I have had several friends that refuse to smoke more that one bowl from the ROOR. As they are destroyed.
I don't consider myself an expert grower yet but I know and grow some great bud for sure.

was that aimed at me?wasnt suggesting for a second that autos have less thc. im currently doing 2 dp/ auto ultimate with 20%thc. what i said was that the natural plants, ie found in the wild, that grow under 24 hour sun are generally shit. due to the sun abuse tho they are very hardy so get put into the genetic mix to make plants easier to grow.

I love autoflowers. I have done 10 grows now and 7 of those were autoflowers with 3 being regular fem photo period strains.

I voted for 20/4 due to a few reasons. The best reason I can give for 20/4 for autos is this.. I grew Auto Seeds Transiberian on a 20/4 schedule and off one plant got 90 grams dry.

I have just had the very best luck using 20/4... I personally would never use 24/7 as I think plants need bare minimum 4 hours of "sleep" a night.

Ohhhh... btw.... anyone wanting to know 2 companies for amazing auto flowers .. check out "Auto Seeds" (they're my favorite auto breeders and its all they make) the other one is memphisto genetics.

I currently have 3 seeds of Auto Seeds Purple Cheese and will be growing one out soon.


What I currently have growing is 2 plants.. one autoflower and one photo.. The autoflower is a Speed Seeds NYC Diesel auto and the photo plant is a barneys farm Ayahuasca Purple.



I veg the photo strain next to the auto till it gets done then I just switch lights to 12/12 and finish the non auto.



I can't give enough praise to the company "Auto Seeds" and I would tell anyone wanting to grow autos to check them out. Anything I've done from them or seen friends do has been fantastic. That transiberia I grew was not only huge with 90 grams but it was amazing smoke too.



Soo.. sorry for rambling but ... yeah! 20/4 lighting schedule for autos is the very best IMO.

I got probleems with heat of my led so I'm stuck with short strains, I was planning grow sucker punch.. Have you try it??

I just recently read that there are studies now showing plants do need a rest period to perform their best. Actual period length is still undertermined. I suspect 20/4 may be the best compromise

Im trying another idea. 16hr full lighing, 2hrs 1/4 to keep temp up enough the off time doesnt get too cold, at same time allowing me to have all vents closed and fans off so that 6 off are without any light and stay 68 inside.
