New Grower What do you think of this DIY First Grow?

Post some pictures of your PC Grow man would love to see those @ArtyZan
I will when I have built the cab.

Been getting the stuff together to build it and I promised to photo the build.

Kind a wish I hadn't though coz it would be much faster to just build it and start a grow.

It'll be done soonish and then I'll start a grow journal, which will be a beta test, to try and get to grips working in such a limited space but it should be ok.

Thanks @ArtyZan!!
- will be investing in some cali-mag and the foliage spray!

It was a worry of mine that my plant was too small (Little Mop)
I have grown a strong dislike to the 200w dual spec CFL as it doesn't leave a lot of space for the plant to grow taller.

Next I am going to get a UFO LED because I think it would be better for space and a better fit all together for the bucket.

What stage do they stretch in?
-And how tall will they stretch?

Thanks for the input, learnt a lot.

Sure that CFL is a big in taking up space.

Love LED a ufo would be cool and give you a bit more head room, get a nice full spectrum one.

It's been a while since I looked to see what's out there, so you might want to have a look round to see what's out there.

Once your plant starts the flowering stage, generally around week 3, some autos can start flowering at at 14 days and other will go a bit longer 4 weeks or so.

Stretch, is strain dependent and also the phenotype can affect it too, a sativa pheno is likely to stretch more and grow taller.

Techniques like LST (Low Stress Training) , Topping, Fimming and scrogging can all help keep them lower and fill them out horizontally.

Make sure you have a good look round some of the grow journals here at AFN, you will pick up a lot of ideas and ask questions in peoples grow journals, they will lend a hand.

The best thing I can advise anyone to do is read and read and read! It is the a way of getting to know different growing style and see some awesome grows too.

Also do a search for people growing the same strain as you to see how that strain grows and how people might train it.

You may want to have a look at my Stunting grow. Stunting is a method of reducing stretch by shocking the root system by tansplanting at first sign of flower (when you see the very first hairs/pistils)

Many people won't want to Stunt their grow but for people in limited spaces this can be an excellent way to grow . I got a good yield too!

Here's a link for you - https://www.autoflower.org/threads/...-eshine-ds-300-1-x-vipar-b2x3-stunting.36318/

Have a great grow man

Update: my plant has a lot of leaves which I guess could hinder the growth of my buds would it be okay to trim a few off to allow more light to get to buds/colas

If it's an auto, you have to be very careful and only take a couple of leaves a day. If you shock the plant, it'll go back into vegetative stage and your yield will suffer. Take your time, slowly remove all leaves you want, a few each day, until it's the way you want it.

You might want to tie the branches down, just a little light training that can make a big difference on your crop.

Keep up the awesome work! :)

Hello AFN

:: UPDATE ::

Not sure if anyone is still viewing this but nevertheless the show will still go on

Started taking a few leaves off my Mop a day to tidy it up again and to get the light to reach all the hard to see areas.

Looking really well with the buds starting to develop, white little hairs staring to come through in abundance. Really looking forward to wrapping this up in a rolling paper and getting chonged!

Many thanks for your time

Thanks dude!! Really impatient now, harvesting can not come quick enough!
I'm on the same boat with my broken girl. I'll start flushing her any day now, just want to make sure I don't do it too early. She's my first grow and I want her to be as perfect as possible!

Now, your girl looks like my Caramel and my Queenie, but these two aren't autos. They are beasts, though. Growing like there's no tomorrow. Even a clone I took from Queenie is going nuts.

Sorry to ask, I just read this thread from the beginning, but... guess what? I'm stoned and don't remember if you're growing indoors or outdoors.

Sounds like you got it all under control man, it's my first grow as well and I'm just going with the flow. Giving myself rough guidelines but overall 'winging it'

Technical terms I'm growing indoors in my shed, but the temperatures I face it may as well be outside. Thankfully due to the design of the space-bucket the inside temperatures are easily controlled by PC fans, Grow light and a heater all on a timer. 22hrs on - 2hrs off (at around mid-day)

You an indoor grower or outdoor?
