I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter weekend.
It was easter?!?!? Far out.. :D

So my first week under my belt and thanks to you AFN members looking over me, she is still alive :)
No.. the truth is that it's thanks to you looking after her - a part of which was coming here for advice.

It’s been a good learning week.
Great attitude to have. I've learned a lot, too, this last week. Namely that I'm a fuckin idiot in the groom sometimes.. but hey ho ;)

I am more relaxed than I was this time last week.
Great attitude to have. Stressed growers usually equate to stressed plants.

I’m not constantly scouring around trying to find outeverything than could or can go wrong and just letting her be.
Great attitude to have. Letting them be is what they like the most.

The soil is drying our nicely. It’s still damp under the the first inch or so. Temps are nice and steady.
It'll take a while because she's not very big, so she won't be using up much of the water.. but this is perfectly fine. Right now ther are some nutes in the soil to keep her going (and obviously some water ;)) so she'll be fine for a few days yet. Can't remember if I mentioned it in an earlier post, but I have some 18ltr pots that haven't been watered in nearly 2 weeks because the pots haven't fully dried yet and the girls don't show any signs of needing it. I'm freaking out a bit because that's the longest I've ever seen a pot go without water, but you know what they say about it if it ain't broke...

Ill post weekly going forward unless I’m panicked.
She's growing. She's looking very healthy today. You have nothing to panic about. Well.. I mean unless your house is on fire, or you discover that you can't breathe. Then panic. :D

SincerelyHope this finds you all well !!
Likewise.

Take it easy oldboy. :peace:

it looks just like mine at that age, but mine has now got yellow new growth, its a pain isnt it trying to keep yourself from checking them every opportunity they get. Just need to relax I guess!!! good luck, onwards and upwards

Hey Orgrandeviadol,

I have been checking in on your thread.

You’ve got some of the best AFN wise ones looking out foryou though. I’m sure everything is going to be fine.

Im getting better, I only check on her every 3 hours now ...lol !

This growing business is serious fun though isn’t it :)

Hey BigBuddha,

LOL yea Easter has come and gone.

All that remains is a fridge full of half eaten chocolate!

I was checking out some pictures of your ladies, Really nice.

Questions

· You don’t use a reflector? What’s your thinking behind that?

· Tying back...Do you do this with all your plants?

If you have links to your threads regarding the question, please pop them along.

Just goes to show that the Anesthesias are living up to their name :D

Cheers pal. Been a bit of a nightmare in there the last few days so my entire photoperiod grow was chopped a week or two early this morning (I think they're the ones you're looking at judging by the next question)..

· You don’t use a reflector? What’s your thinking behind that?
Ah.. well.. I DO use reflectors mostly.. and in the tent you were looking at there is a horizontal reflector in there with a 250w Dual Spec bulb in it.. and that 250w Red CFL you can see is merely for some additional lighting to the mid-lower bud sites. In my experience.. it really makes a difference and I'm pretty sure it works out to be cost effective when you factor-in street prices these days. Even if not.. it makes ME feel slightly better so it's worth it ;)

But, back to serious.. additional vertically-hung lighting is often used in commercial grows to either add a bit more of one spectrum or just to increase overall yield to the parts that get the least light. I don't really have the space to do it (due to heat) with anything more than a CFL, or possibly a 250w HPS/DS (not MH), but the CFL allows closer positioning.

· Tying back...Do you do this with all your plants?
Well.. so far, there hasn't been a plant in my groom that I haven't fiddled with. HOWEVER.. I've not long planted 2 autos in 1ltr airpots as an experiment and I'm going to leave one of those untouched to see what happens.

Aside from the fact that I really enjoy training the girls.. it seems to increase yield quite a bit. At the least, it gives much bushier, lower plants with thicker stalks and much-improved lower growth, so it's worth it in my opinion.

If you have links to your threads regarding the question, please pop them along.
But then I couldn't waffle on endlessly and aleviate my sad-old-bastard-before-his-time syndrome ;)

Cheers oldboy. If you have any questions fire away.

Yup. It's got ahold of ME alright. I used to be fun and cheery, now I'm miserable and too way serious :D

In MY opinion and that of most growers, LST definitely helps improve yields for autos. A LOT. I've got a few tips regarding which leaves to remove early on to get better light-penetration later.. and maybe how to tie them down.. but the real trick is in understanding what LST is and HOW it actually works. If there isn't a sticky on it here already I'll start a thread later on and spread the LST love.

Welcome Oldboy
This is a great place to be!!
I'm right there with you. This is my first grow also. I had beans sprout 3-30, 4-1 & 4-4. I also could not stop checking on them every 1/2 hour or so. I have settled quite a bit over the past week and manage to not peek for at least three hours lol....the growing bug has bit me hard. Here is a link to my grow thread https://www.autoflower.org/f44/long-time-toker-first-time-grower-7797.html
What flavor are you growing?
May the Gods of the Grow be on your side!!:peace:
