Hi, new grower here. Indoor, in organic soil. I'm on day 36 of my auto-flower grow and entering the flowing stage. I had a question about VPD + Humidity during flowering. It says to keep humidity between 40-50% during flowering stage. The VPD Chart says to keep humidity at 65% when running a temp of 80F.

I do not want to get mildew or mold. When my plants are in VPD specs plants are doing very well. I'm confused if I should follow the VPD chart, or keep my humidity between 40-50% to avoid any moisture issues. My PPFD is around 450. DLI between 25-30.

What to do? Thanks in advance.

I like the low 40% zone for indoor finishing once the buds get fatter. So far, no mold, and the plants seem perfectly happy with it. I don't think risk of mold gets bad until the buds get large, and different strains will have different sensitivity due to bud structure. The larger and denser the bud, the greater the risk, but if you keep the air moving and the rh below ~45%, the chance of mold is low to nil in my experience.

Thanks! I've been keeping it below 50% with no issues but the temperature has risen because I've turned up the led lights to 85/90% being that I'm in a few weeks of early/flowering.

My 2 girls are in day 47. One's a sativa, the other indica, autos. The sativa didn't handle the nitrogen in the soil well, too hot, but it seems they are growing. I'm seeing frost on the leaves, that was another thing that caught my eye to remind me of RH during flowering. Here's a few pics. My 1st indoor auto grow.

I'm going to relax with the bloom fertz cause I do see small amount of burnt leaf tips. If you look at both plants stems, base of plant, zoom in, you will see the stems are so purple they look black. My DLI is between 30-35%. Trying not to get heat stress or light stress. LED are about 18" away and I can't move them up more.
