Hey man. I believe the air needs to be exchanged every five minutes at a minimum. But don't quote me on that. I do know that you should have your fan on 24/7 though so either way whether it was every minute or five minutes that fan has you covered. You will especially need it 24/7 with the carbon filter when they start to smell. Good post and quote. Good luck.

what a lovely upbeat attitude you have my friend, youll fit in perfectly, and i know what you mean about checking on the seedling, as if its changed in the last half hour, so you go to check on it again lolol

Took the words right out of my mouth. :peace:

Welcome to the forum oldboy. May you be blessed with more weed than you can shake a stick at. ;)

Welcome to AFN Oldboy! Congrats on the start of your first grow! Its a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, many fine people here to help you with the downs and share the thrill of the ups with you.

Hi All,
I hope this post finds you well.

My thanks to Squidherb for the feedback.
From reading other peoples posts, from those using the more powerful lights, too much heat can be an issue. With the CFL and running the TT constantly, my concern is I won’t be able to keep the temperature up.

As I have a couple off days of work so I am going to run the TT on constant and keep an eye on the temp.

“Lilly” was watered last night (8pm) . I was nervous about drowning her so only gave her 800ml of water. When I did there was a little white root popping through the soil and the shell was still attached( not sure of the correct term ).

This morning I awoke to this.

What a great start to the day.

Thanks again to all who said hi...

Perfect. She looks like she means business.

Green mojo coming over to her. :peace:

Awesome man, look at that fat little trunk starting! :smokebuds:

I try to change the air in the grow space once every two minutes. Of course I only do so temperatures permitting. I keep my exhaust fan set at 70 dagrees F. I hope this helps. Of course others may have different opinions. Very close to 22 C. We are very close here.

Hi All,
Many thanks to everyone for saying hi and making me feel very welcome.

My first grow is indoors. It is a fairly easily controlled room with heating and window access.
The equipment I purchased was.
Tent: DR60 Grow Tent by Secret Jardin 60x60x140 cm

Lights:1 x 125w -6400k White - Blue.
1x 250w -2700k Red

Ventilation:TT100U Inline fan with controller
1x9inch Oscillating Fan

Medium:
Biobizz Light soil

Nutrients
Biobizz Grow/Bloom
1x 8ltr pot

Strains/Reason:
Speed Devil 1:- I was intrigued when I read reports of a cheese and yeast:
I Don’t recall smoking cheesy pot before....another first....

I have the fan outside of the tent in a box I put together. It muffles the sound really well. I have the output hose going through the ceiling into the attic.
I decided to soak the seed it in ph water and put in a cool place. (after reading about this on AFN)

Three days later I saw the white root. The seed then went into the watered soil( ph6.5ish) under the 125w CFL. I have the fan on and the TT set to turn on when the room reaches 23c. The temperature of the room is currently around the 22-23c It goes up a little when the house heating is on. (Where I live it’s on allot)

Questions: The whole air extraction subject is still a little confusing for me.

How often should the air be exchanged within the tent?

Should I have the TT set to come on at a lower temperature?

Or set to be constantly on?

I hope my waffle has found you all in good forum. :)

Ill leave you with a quote from one of my all time great smoking buddy films.

“My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.”
“God darnit, Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.”

Hi All,
Many thanks for the reply Nelson.

The room temp at the moment is around the 22-23c had the TT set to come on at 23c but tried running it longer yesterday, It didn’t effect the room temp that much. Which lead me to think that my thermometer is broker or the fan is crappy :)

I was hoping to post a pic every other day or so. I would like to avail of the expert eye that may be able to warn me before any major problems occur. As this is my first, I wouldn’t know what looks right and what looks wrong.

No problem old boy I am always glad to help. I'm a bubbly hydro guy with autos and grow photos outside. Good luck with your grow. You will make friends with your growing room as time passes.

I see it.. to me it looks a bit like the soil or something in it is too hot for her (nute burn).

I'm curious.. are you feeding her yet or just giving her water?

:peace:

Edit.. and as namvet says in the next post, her soil does look too wet.
