In reference to the second light with mirrors I did find the odd one with a ballast in the US but they are silly money, seeing as you just want the reflector.
So I went to Ebay.com to look and see if there was a used one for sale cheap... not a bit of it, the prices were even higher.
It looks to me as if the mirrored on is no long in production (I could be wrong though) but all the ones I am seeing have ther planished finish.
I often find an image search works better than putting in the name of what you are looking for.
I used the picture you posted and then did a left click on it (PC) and click "search google for this image"!
From there I could open a picture and see what details are there.
I also checked Ebay.uk, which had just the reflector or the full 240v set up (reflector, bulb, ballast). They all had the planished finish
So it looks like the UK version, is the only one readily available.
Regarding the Lumatek Shinobi, I would guess the answer is their monkeys had no idea, so it got ignored!
Bad customer service, is some I abhor!
So here is my reply and you can take it with a pinch of salt.
I will however explain my thinking.
Seeing as the CMH/LEC (which is a blend of HPS & MH tecnology) is a
shorter bulb and the adapter looks like it shouldn't add more than 2 CM (my reckoning is that it looks to add 1.5 CM) to the bulb length.
Then I would say if the reflector is designed for an HPS bulb, it then should be fine for a CMH with and adapter & still be in reflective sweet spot.See picture below.

One more additional piece of info is the CMH/LEC/CDM fixture is known as "
PGZ 18 holder"
There are many converters for "E40 to PGZ18" and for a lot less than Lumateks price, after all they are just selling 3rd party piece of equipment and sticking extra money on it because they are Lumatek.
Ebay and other grow shops have them for less!
Often for a tenner or less.
I'm adding the Safety Instructions even if you have already read them, I'd hate to see anything happen to a pal!
It will also benefit the readers of you journal, who may want to do the same!

Instructions for E40 to PGZ18 converter (E40 to CDM)
Screw the adapter into your current reflector E40 fitting and screw the CDM lamp as tightly as possible into the converter in your reflector. Use a clean, dry cloth for this. Tighten the lamp as tightly as possible. Failure to do so may cause sparks to form between the center contact of the lamp and the bulb holder. This will cause the solder contact on the bottom of the lamp to melt, causing damage and making it unusable. Therefore, make sure that the lamp is clean and completely free of fingerprints. Finally, hang your reflector at the correct height for the CMH lamp. Plug in the power cord and turn it on. The ballast starts up and illuminates the lamp.
The wattage of your ballast MUST match the wattage of the lamp you are using. Once this deviates, there is a high risk of fire or equipment damage. In addition, never use an HPS or MH ballast with CMH lamps.
