I cheated and bought seedlings from a garden centre. One six pack was full price but the other pack was reduced because three had died and the other three were lanky as anything so they were only a quid. They're all happy as anything against a south-east facing wall (the back of my kitchen). What variety/ies are you growing?
Haha I have some cheat veg in the garden too... There's no shame in it lol
I've got some romanesco cauliflowers that are getting huge (which I'm severely regretting as I have to blast 100s of butterfly eggs off the leaves every night :finger: ), cherry tomatoes in hanging baskets, moneymaker tomatoes I need to pot up, peppers, Apache chilli's, a few various other miscellaneous chilli plants, butternut squash, albino strawberries and regular ones and some cucumber seeds that have just popped up  I've gone a bit crazy this year. My yard is barely 4x4m haha.. Good camouflage I guess though !

Thanks double-R ! :bighug:

It's not without burden trust me :( just lost 2 plants to powdery mildew... Outdoor gardening is an ongoing battle lol
Slugs on my strawberries but bees on my lavender. Swings and roundabouts. Hubby wants to pot some runners into baskets and attach them to the fence so we can have a strawberry cascade next year and keep the slugs off.

Sorry to hear that ☹️ outdoor growing is always difficult though I’ve never tried growing mj outside. And the seasons so short too. Hopefully your other plants can make up for it due to the fantastic weather conditions.

That's a great idea ! I've not had any problems with them since I started using pellets. I managed to find organic pet safe ones that didn't leave exploded slug bodies all over the garden... And touch wood I've not seen a single one of the little boggers since I started using them a couple of months ago !

What brand are the organic pet safe ones? I may have to get some...

for truly a organic and pet safe way of stopping slugs and not killing them... old coffee grounds in a heap round the base of the plant. It burns them to craw over it... con... if it rains you have to replace the coffee grounds sharpish or your castle walls are down for the their armies to slither on in.

also another that work on pots, place a ring of copper wire round the top of the pot. Again the slug will not crawl over it, they hate it.

Mine are in a brick-edged bed so we've made a rod for our own backs there LOL - hence the talk of the cascade. I knew about the copper though.
