Day 28 still growing, 18" tall (45 cm), and drinking 3 liters per day. They seem happy with just CFLs and tomato plant food.

I trimmed both Tyrones, they can keep 6 colas each but I will continue trimming shaded leaves.

The GrowNorthern HS1 shut itself down. It is very annoying to wake up to a dead $500 light in your grow room. Unplugged it, waited, plugged it back in... it flashed some odd patterns and eventually settled down to a feeble output with all 37 LEDs lit. I measured it with a meter.. 14 watts, it is only using 14 watts! Enough irritation, the HS1 is out of my grow room until I get around to fixing it.

I haven't snipped anything in 24 hours, getting itchy.

Now I understand more, you grew 2 plants in one container.
The cane sticks are a structure for LST to enhance the yield.
You flatten the canopy to catch the light better and adjust the height of colas to force even growth.

Yeah, I got plenty of light, and plenty of leaves is removed, goes hand in hand me thinks. Penetration and penetration........well, I think whether you have 3w or 5w, penetration is more a question of distance rather than being "able" to "penetrate" through a mass of leaves......a clear line of sight, so to speak, for best target acquisition.

I'm thinking of some air layering ........the space needed is a bit of a show stopper at the moment though, and mainlining, and......and........and........a duplicator to clone harvest-ready plants 5 minutes prior to harvest and such........it will all go "boink" in due course hehe

penetration is more a question of distance

I mostly agree, my cheap CFL is only good for a distance of about 8" (20 cm). So a flat canopy less than 8" thick seems like a good fit. Side lighting is too much effort, my goal is not maximum yield. Just give me a couple of fat sticky colas.

I just went to check on them and I swear they gave me some attitude. Ha! I got out the Fiskars, snip snip:

You know how it is, let them get away with a little attitude today.... and next week you find yourself in the supermarket buying Feminine Hygiene Products while thinking "how the hell did this happen"

Thank you very much for the kind words, I don't feel like I deserve it, but it sure feels good.

I really don't know about other other companies, I only grow Mephisto.

Probably I am just lucky that the Tryrones have not hermied.....hey, if one did hermie....can it fertilize
itself AND the other plant in the same container? Thanks Pops, what a fun idea!

So I need to torture enough to hermie, but not enough to kill? Weird.
