Mephisto Genetics Tyrone Special K.I.S.S grow journal

Leaving them in there with a dead plant sounds like a bad bad idea as the the old plant will rot and decompose i hope i'm wrong but that sounds like its gonna cause problems in your simple grow. Plus also is there even room in the pot for 2 extra lot of roots?

Some plants have been growing like this for millions of years. There might be a whole delicious network of Micorrhizae in that soil. The Tyrone Special Seedlings might have a chance. I really don't know, but we should see results in 60 days or less!

I don't think roots decompose that fast so be careful. I've thrown an old rootball in the compost pile about 3 months ago and it's still there. good luck though! You gave me an idea to just get a 30 gallon tote shove it in my tent and have four or five autos in one tote
:)

This a wicked approach to gardening. It reminds of 1990's when all I had was 20-20-20 to an extent. But reusing the soil for another grow is very cool it should work well the old roots will breakdown providing more aeration for the incoming root ball. Maybe feed it some thing to help break down the existing rootball and turning it into nutrients.

Thanks Fairlynew.

I have Micorrhizae supplements, and I am very tempted to use them. But I want to stick to a simple grow that anybody could do. When I started reading AFN I was overwhelmed with the endless variety of nutes, and schedules, and flushing. It can be intimidating for a newbie. Growing stuff should be fun, kids do it in school just for fun.

The soil has had two months to build a natural Micorrhizae network, maybe it is ready.

Ok I see well here is a :slap: for you I hope she works out for you. You are taking it to another level this will be interesting to watch. If it is a five gallon airpot I think there might be more than enough area for extra roots PEACE

Keep It Super Simple... a low maintenance grow, with tomato plant food.

STRAIN: Tyrone Special
SOIL: Peat moss + 10% vermiculite + old roots
CONTAINER: 15 liter Superoots Air Pot
LIGHTS: Grownorthern HS1 LED... 24 hours
NUTES: Texas Tomato Food, $14.95 per quart on Amazon. NPK is 3.8 - 3.1 - 7.0 based on "percentage of weight"

One bottle of nutes from start to finish, nothing else, not even Silicon or Cal/Mag. With just one bottle I have a decent chance of fertilizing correctly. The goal is to fertilize lightly at every watering so there are always nutrients near those millions of little root hairs. This tomato food has earned a good reputation on the tomato forums.
Lets try it on weed.

Welcome, I am curious how this plays out too.
Should I have planted them closer to the edge of the container, so the stalks would be farther apart for better light and air flow? Day 1... already worrying too much. LOL

I threw some rotten kale and old spinach in my supersoil bins a couple weeks ago,no sign of either today. The micro herd is doing its job. This is fun sometimes i take myself and my grow way to serious. You can,t learn if you don,t experiment a little.I wonder what eyes on fire would think,or a4 they are both organic gurus.Pretty cool though.Peace.
