New Grower Two kilos minimum?

My last grow with AU and two plants yielded 427 grams under 600watt,i open grow /no tent in 2 gallon fabric pots,in coco..they do get huge tho,and that grow shared space with 5 auto Wappa plants, open area was pushed to 5'x5' total yield for that cycle was about 834 grams....

As @blue says.... Perpetual grow may well be the best bet, for example:-

1 x setup tent (as you suggest) running a perpetual grow is constant work... it is a constant grow, but you have better control, less risk, constant supply, on a 18/6 schedule....

Use whatever medium you want.... Even run a mix of auto plants.

Once you have it dialed in.... it's a lot easier to maintain, and you spot any differences from the norm (problems) sooner.

I do hydro and don't change the water weekly. Unless something goes terribly wrong and I need to flush the plant so it doesn't die, I only change the container once, when I start flushing...

I have recently experimented with not changing the reservoir much. Went a week or two over a month at the end. Pretty much all of bloom. It worked, but I do think it lost some vigor. Two 600 watt HPS lights on light movers will get you to two kilos. You should consider photos. They are more forgiving and easier to get larger. They let you choose when to bloom, and you can give them an extra time if something went a foul early. If you mess up an early stage of an autos life, you might want to just pull it and start over. Most likely all chance of yield is gone. You also save on the electricity of 12/12 versus 18-24 hours of daily light.
That all being said, you still need proper usage of equipment to get good yields. Aero pots with soil or pure coco coir in grow bags is going to be your best bet. Running a simple system correctly is much better than running an advanced system poorly.

It's very possible - here's a thread worth looking at - this chap pull 1kg per plant in hydro (12 weeks odd)

So by that logic, if you were to grow 4 and only do 1/4 as well as mrG - you'd easily hit your kilo in 12 weeks :coffee:

I think he's grown such monsters under 1 Grownorthern ms0006 LED (which used to cost about £250 when new), but probably best bare in mind, he has a gravita plasma (very expensive), a pretty perfect environment that's co2 enriched, great nutes and very very good at growing lol

Food for thought though!

Tough to save up for equipment if you smoke it all lol. I'm very good friends with our local grow store owner. He says it all the time to me but not new growers. He is rich from people with big plans. They come in buy half the store and do a few grows to find out it's not as easy as it looks. Which it isn't. Best bet is to start out small but make sure every purchase now can be used in the bigger plan once you figure if growing massive amounts of herb is for you.

For instance a small tent. You will not pull lbs from a 2x2 but that's your goal. Can you use the tent later on if you decide your going to expand. Having a lot of tents is more of a hassle if you ask me. Controlling the environment is much easier with one or two tents. Or the lighting, is a 250w hps useful to you in a 10x10 room? Most likely not, a budget needs to be met for most but buying things that don't have a place later in is more then exceeding the budget it's a waste of money. Hope this helps. That was my plan when I started and even though I do have a lot of left over equipment it does come in handy very often.

I'd recommend perpetual grow also. You can do it easier with that route. If you're soil I'd fill a 4x4 tent with 8 plants and go for it. Of course it would be strain dependent, but I can pull 2-2.5 lbs in my 4x4 with 9 girls. It's gets crowded fast so you'll need to be attentive.
