New Grower Two kilos minimum?

Well I've only grown once and that was soil I sopose I will go with what's the easier option what do you recommend for less stuff to go wrong soil or hydro? Will a grow tent this measurements do 1.2/2.4/2.0 with two 600watt lights ? Seen one at a good price on eBay I think 350 pounds and growing photos is something I don't think I would be good at lol

I would say regs are easier homes, have more time to recover hiccups autos just alot quicker built for take away generation lol

That's what people used to think..... But nowadays Autos are much more stable & productive.

Autos are pretty straight forward if you follow basic advice. 80% of the problems new growers have are usually a result of one of the following:- over watering, over feeding, under watering, or underfeeding.

If you want to eliminate most of the hiccups, you can utilise aids (like Autopots to regulate feed and watering). Use a PH & EC pen to get the mix correct. Use the correct Nutrients & media etc.

Use the correct fans (In and out) to get the correct air exchange.... things will run a lot smoother....

In turn, that makes it then a lot easier to see, isolate and prevent other potential problems before they happen, rather than try and fix them afterwards.

Hmm true but all that being said just shows regs are easier just autos turn over quicker

Not really, everyone's mileage will be different based on their abilities, experience and knowledge. It is not that different (apart from obvious light cycles etc) to grow regulars or autos...

Growers should not be put off trying them - lots of horror stories out there are just down to ignorance and bad grow management (any plants they grow will suffer).

Personally, I have no "extra" or "additional problems" growing Autos... To be honest, I think Autos are just as "easy" to grow, produce as much, quality is as good, and they turn over quicker.

So for me (and a lot of other growers nowadays), that equates to Win-Win.

In 50 years time, you may be able to get a super enhanced seed, pop it in the ground and come back in a week and harvest, without the need for food, water, care etc....

But that is for the future... For now, as with everything in life.... you will get out what you put in.

Put in an Auto, and surprise yourself.

Yeh i understand now, most mistakes are done by sweaty ignorance so there for one shouldnt think oyeh do regs cos im gonna mess up, should have basic knowledge of growing and then wont be ruining grows

From my exp no auto ive done has yeilded more but flavours nd resin production had been good

Just need to home my skills bit more

WORD mate!!!!!

singing on every thing you said..and i would say its super fun to watch that rapid development of AF

:thanks:

I've done autos and photos in the same room, same lights, pots, etc. I have found that I can produce better looking buds and more of them using autos than photos per square foot X time in production. In other words, over a years time I can grow more with autos than photos using the same space.

Master the early growth and maximum autos potential, and autos could certainly outperform photos in the same time and space. Absolutely accelerated growth rates.

But on the other hand....make a mistake in early stage growth on an auto and end results pay for it, where photos can be corrected and simply vegged out a bit longer and still produce just fine.

Why? AU has been grown to 998grams, right here on this forum! An average grower can get 350gr. per plant. even if you "only" hit 250 per, 4 plants will do it. but you'll need a lot more space than that and a lot more light. I got 312grams dry from one, grown organically, under 585 watts of LED.
A master grower could do it in a 4'x4'x7" space, not many can. 4'x8' would be ideal minimum. I'd invest in quality, COB based LED lights. You'll want at least 600 PPFD over the entire canopy.

If your aiming for 2 kgs you may aswell grow photos, is that an option for you?

Because Haggis has one grow under his under his belt, we can assume next to none of the equipment needed (yet) to pull 2kgs regardless of genetics.

basically I want to make sure I grow minimum two kilos (dried) so it lasts me the year without having to grow again

ANYONE wanting advice on how to grow a primo auto is looking in the right place right here let me make that clear, MUCH respect to all of you sharing what your doing!

However if Haggis wants 2kgs from one grow for whatever reason many would recommend photos. He could be schooled up as much as anyone cares to teach but the fact remains that accidents happen and one mistake on a crop of autos under all the right equipment could mean too low of a yield or a second grow, which in haggis' case isn't what he wants out of this endeavour.

So whats a week or two or even a month in extra grow time compared to having quite a large safety net?

We all know it's possible with AU, but honestly if @haggis was my friend I could not guide him with a clear conscience to a grow shop or online and drop thousand on equipment and hundreds on seeds for the possibility to stunt them and cause months of life stress and money wasted.

I'm not looking to get bashed for endorsing a regular seed i just think its a more responsible choice for haggis.

Heck @haggis run an experiment doing half auto half reg and post results for everyone to enjoy and learn from whilst learning more for yourself than anyone could teach.
