well at first i did it because i was trying to water quickly and didnt use tables yet. but honestly the dip method is fine and waters faster than tables if you are on a small scale its better than flooding an entire table for 4-6 plants. i will be mass flooding my tables for 30 minutes from now on though. might be updating in a bit with some harvest if i check these pj's in the other one and see some amber tri's which i think i will.
Ended up with 144.8g/wet of purp/pink pj pheno 3purp/1pink
57.9g/wet of white pheno 2white
looks like between the 6 i should pull around 1.75 oz dry. I will be looking forward to seeing what the hydro numbers look like as im predicting much larger numbers. i just wanted to set 3 oz aside from this harvest so im gonna smoke this to 1.5 oz and set aside another 1.5 oz on the next harvest in a week or two and the rest is gravy smoke till the end of January when i have yet another harvest. Just put around 60-70 beans in water today to start the next all pj grow for the hps tent. once that is all transferred there, i will be popping enough pj's for another 12 plant grow in the led tent and i will start those and some mothers for my photo project. I'm looking forward to growing some massive trees!
im averaging around 9-10g per plant in soil but i would be suprised if each didn't yield at least a half ounce a piece. If I locked that down with my new hydro method then I will be pulling some large numbers in the full pj tent grow i am starting up. I would love to harvest over 12 oz at once per tent before i hang up my auto hat for a while.
im using smart pots with rock-wool fluff because the root mass got huge relatively quickly. i will shoot a video shortly and you will see the side in smart pots vs the side on the cocomat. the difference is night and day. i feel like i have a winner with the best of both worlds of hydro and soil. i water once every 3-4 days like soil but the uptake by the roots is beyond soils grows. i was growing in soil to perfect my genetics but now im going for methods to up my yields. it costs just a little more to do this than something reusable like coco or hydroton but i enjoy the ease of the rockwool. I have roots popping out the bottom of the smartpots now and they are lush and green.
hey tshirt,in some of your posts, your saying your giving up soil, and hanging up your autoflower hat, and going away from led.......... say it aint so.. lol
once i saw the growth difference i had hung up my hat on soil. with autos it was to "tame the beast" since autos are some of the pickiest plants to read i wanted to get good with them. now that i have the gear i will be switching to photo in the spring. I will keep random autos around but will be switching to photo under HPS now that i can properly watercool the lights. for me its all about production at this point and i need to be pulling bigger numbers out of those tents like i know i can. with my new smartpot/rockwool combo i should be able to start cloning and have some large crops of strains such as vanilla kush. i will still use my led's but they will be on mothers/clones along with a 6 pack of autos at any given time. I will have the time to grow out exotic autos like the super ones or the odd crosses that i have like RRFxPJ.
