I think 2-3 would be enough, 4 would be almost overkill and would need a sealed system with co2.

So it would take 4 cxb 200 to properly light a4x4 and kill it?
Yes 4 CXB200s spaced evenly over 4x4 and I like to use 800watts in 4x4.I use 6inchmax fan filter with passive intake. I control my lights on temp with 3sp sp max fan and set heater 68 for lights off temp. Last flower Run was 2300 g with 1700Watts CXB3590s/Vero29s
If someone is in 5x5 I rec 4 Vero240s 3000K which is 960watts of air cooled timbers:headbang:

I have run 600watts in 4x4 and yield is between 800 and 1000g depending on strain. When I run 800 watts in that same area 1000 to 1200 g with extra 200watts. It takes 8 emitters to properly cover that area evenly.
Let me talk about emitters for minute. Over the last 18months I have used Vero18s Vero29s CXB3590s ranging from 60watts all the way to 120watts and time after time IMO I see the chunkiest/dense high oil production buds that open up the sites the best from 100watt CXB3590s CB bin 30G(3000K) emitters from Timber CXB200 3000K Fixtures.
Best GPW seems to come from CXB200 also. I am still running the prototype CXB200. This next run will be the 4th flower run non stop and hasn't skipped a beat.
Forced Air Cooling setup IMO will change the game moving forward
As far as noise from Timbers. There quiet. 6in Max fan is louder.
I am switching all LED fixtures over to 240 very soon

I will ramble on little more. I just burnt j GC and wanna talk little more on the Cooling aspect of the emitters. That's the hardest part of design aspect of fixture. Keeping the Emitter within operating temps isn't easy. Hotter they run more flux #s drop off and plants don't like that, and the emitter lifespan is cut dramatically.
Its easy to tell if a fixture isnt properly cooled. it will look like frying an egg burnt on output side.
So basically what I am saying is when looking to buy a fixture Cooling setup is just as important as the component make up of COB Grow Lights
