As a follow on from yesterdays update - showing the bending process (see previous post) and how to effectively lower the overall stem / canopy height, and open the area up to more bud production...

This is what the bent stem looks like after just 12 Hrs, as you can see the stem has already recovered and growing back upright.

Happy with that

Plant 1 - 6th Dec 2018 after bend.jpg

Neat little bendy things, used them lots over a number of grows and always work well.

(once again, pic was taken in tent, lights on - so colour is off)

That's some cool little bits of kit! I'll keep my eye out for them and grab some one day look really handy. Like the simplicity of it. And those plants seem to be loving it

I've seen those before and often thought they would be great. What are they called? Is there a brand? Or a just a product name? Would be a great stocking stuffer.

Thank you, they are simple good bits of kit, and were very cheap for what they do and the final difference it can make.

I have some kit that cost big bucks, and some that cost pennies... this is one of the cheapest.

If you tend to grow monster plants - that start to reach towards the lights, they are one of the most useful items to have when you reach this stage of a grow.

Wouldn't be without them.... I can recommend them.

They are called "BendZ" I got mine years back on e-bay.... looks like the price has gone up a bit over the years, but... here is a product Link

What the manufacturers say:-
An excellent little device that allows you to gently bend the branches of your plants so they can receive more light than if they grew naturally.
As the plant grows through the vegetative stage, BendZ are clipped to the stems which change their growing direction. By clipping on more, you can sculpt the shape of your plant to provide maximum light penetration and increase flower development. After a week or so they can be removed and the bend will remain, they can then be used elsewhere on the plant.
BendZ are also very handy for moving large fan leaves that are shading other flowers beneath. Simply clip one onto the leaf stem to bend it into another position.
• Excellent for people who grow multiple branching plants
• Allows light to reach all branches giving higher yields
• No more annoying bits of string
• Stop removing fan leaves
• Reusable

you must be in the UK. I can't find this product in North America. I contacted a UK store to see if they will ship to me. Pretty great tool for cheap.

Hi Lunarman, I use these. I make a spiral and then bend it over. If the stems aren’t too stiff they work beautiful. Cheap too.

Thanks davisgirl. I have quite a bit of that stuff but its on a spool and I cut to length. Just trying to picture what you mean. So the spiral is wrapped around a branch for a couple of inches and then you bend it and the spiral keeps the bend in place?

Yes, that’s exactly right. It works for me for LST because I don’t have a way to anchor down a tie. So it’s self supporting.
