Do rep slaps actually give rep? If so why there a bit to give rep too that you gotta fill in? I done it anyway. Just confused lol

Day 41 Update

Not much of an update today.... Man Flu has laid me low, but did manage to get into the tent for a quick photograph.

The tent (4ft x 4ft x 6ft) is packed FULL, with the two plants really going for gold.

Buds are starting to fill out the gaps, both plants are still drinking loads.

Re-filled the Res with my "Flower Mix" of nutrients Ph 5.8 EC 1.8

Placed a more powerful fan at floor level, pointing upwards between the pots to reduce the humidity low down in the tent and circulate the air better.

Will try and do a more in-depth update in a few days - Flu permitting

Well that was a nice read. Day 17 is when she went mental. Must take 7 days for the roots to propperly get stuck into that res then?
Reckon I've narrowed it down. It's iether the cmh bulb or the amount of airflow that's causing the big difference. Pretty similar otherwise. I usually veg with blurples then go hps. On my first run with cmh at the minuit though and it's better than the blurps by a long shot. Just not quite got the hang of the distance yet.
Are you raising the light regularly to stretch them or do you do as I do and keep it just above the burning point?
I always figured that would be the best spot as it's the most light they can take without damaging them.
I only use a 760c/m/h extractor with no intake so that could be playing a big part too.
Got myself an intake now though so I'll crank that up and see if it makes a difference.
Inspirational stuff mate. Fuck I wish I'd just asked for caramel now lol.

Hey Evil, :toke:

Yep, around Day 17 was when the plants started to take off, but I think the important part to any grow is building really strong roots early, and that starts from Day 1. To my mind, the roots are the base and foundation of growing a good plant.

I always take a look at my roots after I harvest and see how they developed and how they have had an effect on the plant.

If you are interested, take a look at a nutrient review I posted >>> HERE <<< There are a lot of photographs of different plants I have grown and the root systems etc, it may help or at least give you some ideas.

I always grow in Auto pots now (they really changed the game for me). The biggest improvement I made to growing in soil. It gives me perfect watering and feeding 100% of the time. :greencheck:

I use Cana Pro soil with extra perlite and clay balls mixed in, but I also add in some "Charge" (a root developer) with a few other root additives as mentioned.

This grow I have only used my HPS light, a Lumatek 600W 400v Digital Dimmable Pro Balast, with a 600w Dual spectrum enhanced bulb. It is a super light, that really penetrates the canopy. I raise the lights through the grow to keep them above burning level. A little silicone added to the feed will help protect the plants against the higher Temps as well.

Managing Temp, Humidity, Airfolw, etc can be a fine balancing act, but get it right and things grow BIG. Not just Caramel, as you will see from the nutrient review photographs.

I just happened to hit upon a system that combined with a good nutrient range produces those results for me.

:vibe:

Hope that helps you a bit....

Yeah I'm the same with the root obsession mate. I start in root riots for a few days then into 4" rockwools for another 10-12 days in a propegater then into final media. I use both those lights you've got aswell as a 14k 130w cfl reflector I use until they're in their final homes. Crazy good wee seedling light, keeps up with anything I've seen including yours for the first 12- 14 days. Great wee investment.
I also use scillica, couldn't agree more with your thoughts on that stuff. More people should use it.
Just as soon as your roots hit the auto switch I can't keep up by a long shot even in the hydro res. It makes em veg longer so they end up huge anyway but fuck I'd rather do it in 65 days than the usual 110 lol

Excellent grow log mate!!! And thank you for the kinds words and support. Those bendy plastic things look insanely useful, I'll have to grab some :)

Autos absolutely crush it when given the ideal environment... which is interesting considering autos are a species of cannabis (ruderalis) designed specifically to survive in the harshest conditions imaginable. I remember growing some really impressive autos ~10 years ago (Blue Streak and Sour60) so I can only imagine how far the breeders have come after all this time. I shall find out personally this spring:)

They’ve got ruderalis in them bud but they’re not a ruderalis. It’s ruderalis mixed with photo but mostly photo in the mix. Definitely come a long way lol

I have grown a few Zamnesia Caramel Auto's, always a quick turnaround, and produce a reasonable weight.

The quickest one to date was 64 days and produced 865g of wet "close trim bud" that turned into 235g of very very nice "dry cured bud".... also I had 62 grams of quality bud trim (made some bubble hash from that).

I made a 3 minute grow video of that grow, I posted it before way back (two years ago now), but may be worth another look if you are interested....

What an awesome video! Well done :smoking:
