Do you already own the 36v cobs? I’d recommend a 50v for a few reasons. Lower amperage and still achieve a higher wattage. The drivers have low amperage as it is. So getting the most wattage is ideal. Also the size of the panels are very small so having 6-36v vs 4-50v would take up more space. In the end both options are good and please don’t take it like I’m trying to sell you anything either. Version 6 1812’s have a much higher efficiency. Than most available version 5 1212 cobs. Also stay clear of eBay cobs too. They can be as low as version 3 from what I was told from the distributor. If they are cheaper than you can buy them direct there is a problem.
Yes I've already brought the 36v cobs now as they we're the only available ones in my country in single units :( will i be fine just running 2 of these cobs on that driver?

Absolutely. I wasn’t sure which light you had. This was more for general forum info and not specific to you. Being in a country with limited cob availability your in great shape.

You just need to read. I bought 5x gen 5 1212 for 45€ with free shipping on Ebay.

What would you like me to read?

This “deal” is 60 dollars, 12 dollars each. This is a reasonable price. Do you know the efficiency difference on a version 5- 1212 vs a version 6-1812? Everyone has to decide what fits their needs the best and that I fully understand. Passing along info is far from a crime Konopch. If it wasn’t for info this place would still be using 20% efficient lights. How does the warranty go with eBay cobs?

You cannot compare 50V and 36V COB. Compare apples to apples.
Sure it's efficiency drop in gen 5 vs gen 6. But it's like 2-3%.

But that's was not what I wanted to say. I just wanted to say you can get pretty nice deals on ebay if you can read. And get latest gen 6 COBs also. Seller from which I bought gen 5 COBs now selling gen 6 COBs for the same money. That's all.

It's actually around 6.5% efficiency improvement from gen 5 to gen 6 with the 1212s mate. Approximately.

I can personally vouch for that particular eBay seller many many times over. He is extremely reasonable and I think would be happy to replace a dodgy cob if one appeared. 10 quid a pop for gen 6 1212s is about as good as it gets in europe.

I agree with Sm0 about treading carefully on eBay. There is a serious amount of shite and fakery on there. BUT, what I do is judge people on a personal level (not always possible) and then make a choice. Have chosen not to deal with loads, but that one fella is very personable and helpful, and is happy to talk one to one

It’s all about the availability. Buying cobs that are years old, labeled improperly and or left overs is something that’s very common on eBay. It’s tough place for an honest seller like you found hippy. Being in Europe I’d say eBay is about a good of an option as any other. being in the US with plenty of options I’d choose eBay as the last resort.

Here we go guys, i finally made the cob conversion [emoji4] Not bad work for a girl [emoji12] [emoji13][emoji23]
