Indoor The Giant Dr. Feelgood Project

welcome back from your Hols Kush. wow, I couldn't even consider leaving my ladies while they are ....well...to be honest, I couldn't go on holidays once the seeds were sewn; that's me committed until harvest. I don't go anywhere for longer than a night.
but on to you great pics;
man theres some chunky buds there. I got a mazar that's in the same ballpark, but my 3 DrFs are a couple of weeks behind; However two of them are not so dwarf;
sativa phenos obviously; ones nearly 900mm (34-35"); the other about 800mm. the third is more indican and coming in at about 600mm. my grow space is stuffed. I seeded a white-widow, a mazar and a blueberry (all autos) with DR.F pollen. the widow is very heavily seeded; going to be picking those magic beans out for weeks; bit hard on the eyesight, but; its like finding treasure, so kinda satisfying too.
looking forward to your smoke report on the Dr.F;
how long are you going to cure it before sampling?

Cheers lads:pass:

@automan Not sure how old they are exactly...I think I started the soil one at the beginning of May and the hydro one started two or three weeks later. The soil one is hopefully pretty close to being done and I guess I'm just waiting on brown pistils and swollen calyxes with that one?

Dunno about LEDs @A-Train ...I could replace my ballast, reflector and bulb for £65 and my last couple of runs have ended up about 1.3 grams per watt from HPS without much fiddling with plants or light. With single auto fem seeds in a GT205 NFT system I've got a 10oz average so far! :woohoo:

Glad to have you aboard @The Elvis .....just in time for all the pretty close ups:d5:

@Oldbie I had a buddy looking after my grow and he called me pretty much every night to discuss what needed doing. pH was something like 6.5 when I got back but that's an easy fix and they came on loads anyway.

As an aside another mate who grows in a much bigger NFT system got his nute bottles mixed up. Instead of bloom nutes he added PK boost and turned all his plants to straw overnight:jawdrop:

Meant to say @Oldbie I tuck into it as soon as it's dried and have a few other strains to chop and change between and usually get enough to last me a few months so it's pretty well cured by the end of it. Some days I take big nugs and other days smaller ones so I get a taste of what was going on throughout the plant at various stages of curing. Think it took me about a year to get through the 4 Russian Rocket Fuel plants I put in a single one of these wee NFT systems but I reckon I liked it most when it was just down and the flavours at their sharpest. My Himalaya Orange Diesel has cured up nicely after a couple of months though.....flavour might have mellowed but so has the effect as it makes me feel even more melted now. Still so sticky it's a bugger to grind though.:pass:

You got pics of your gals up anywhere?

Some light off with flash pics...

Howdy Kush.
I lined my DR.Fs up for a photo for ya!.
seeds sewn 30th of may. broke soil surface 3rd june, so that's approx. 56 days which is supposed to be their finishing time
(earliest I would imagine) mine have at least 2 more weeks to go. heights are tallest-890mm, 2nd tallest-810mm, and the smallest (more of an Indican phenol) is 630mm. sorry cant find my tape measure to give imperial equivalents;
I am of an age where I am happy using either metric or imperial but I jotted down the measurements in metric.
my own soil mix (too much lime-pH was about 7; my other three autos complained but the Dr.Fs showed no ill effects)
in 7 litre pots. natural feeds, ranging from nettle, comfrey, liquid seaweed and fish pond water.

Looking nice and green.....and tall!:thanks:

You reckon my 2 are the shorter pheno? I've got one Dr. F bean left and the photo period gals I was hoping to clone for my next run are not looking too promising so if I'm going to have to start again from seed I might just stick with autos and see if I can grow an even bigger one.

Hi Kush,
unfortunately the jpg links you provided in your previous post seem to be "dead"; no amount of clicking on them is going to bring them to life. maybe the problem lies at my end.
re the size of your Dr.Fs ; if youre using LEDs, that may influence the size; I am not familiar with them but I have seen enough LED-grown plant shots to suspect that they encourage shorter, bushier growth; I could be wrong.
I started with a 400w MH and then switched to a 600w HPS (and have an electricity bill to prove it!).
I also have a photo on the go and I have to say, it kept pace with the autos and over-took them. I made a few clones cos it was a single seed purchase and I want to self it using a colloidal silver reversed clone.

They show on my mobile so perhaps refreshing the page might help? I upload pics from my PC after stripping EXIF data so they should be there for you if I can see them on my mobile.

I've been using a dual spectrum 600W HPS from the start with these and mostly I've been running without a timer and just switching the light off when it gets a bit too hot up here. I need to get a smaller timer that doesn't block access to the socket next to it as I wanted that extra socket for the humidifier after the humidity dome was off and just never bothered setting a timer up after I stopped using the humidifier.

One of the photos I wanted to clone is commercially available as female seeds easy enough, I just wanted to be able to clone it and see if it was worth keeping a mother plant for. The other strain was bred by a mate who has been growing really nice weed for years and I've no idea what it is but I do know he did it deliberately and would no doubt be interested in any "keepers" I find in this generation so I deffo want to be able to clone that. That one looks healthy enough, it's just not big enough to do anything with yet.

Hope to get a pic up of the stem on the Dr. Feelgood in NFT tomorrow......it's quite fat:bighug::rofl:

Hi Kush,
curiously the jpgs I couldn't see hitherto, are there this morning; another digi-mystery!. nice buds! just ready. are you monitoring trichome development?
theyre probably at the milky stage I am guessing.
yep my 600w HPS is dual spectrum too (Lumii sunblaster).
why doncha get a short extension lead for the timer? I have timers all over the place, though I was running the 400 w and then the 600w on 24 hours for a while. makes for a more even temperature and speeds things up but I am not sure if its the best way to go.
the reason I wanted to clone my Tutankhamon (also available as fem seed) is to have a separate plant to reverse gender and "self" with one of the non-reversed clones, so as to keep the mother completely seedless (all 6 autos I have on the go are seeded with Dr.F pollen); I have to say this photo is one of the healthiest plants I have ever grown; it has absolutely perfect, blemish free leaves-a real beauty! very high thc by all accounts (unlike the auto version, which I thought I had ordered). long term I might cross it with Hindu Kush and then backcross with the recurrent parent (feminised seed resulting from the "selfing")
however I may not, as growing autos just seems a so much more easier option. still, I hope to end up with plenty of feminised seed and if I like the weed that much I will have the option of growing it.

Aye bud, we're on trichome watch.....although I tend to go with it being done when it looks really done and we're not quite there yet. I'm not ready to harvest the hydro one yet as the plan is the soil ones and the Dark Devil Auto and have them dried and out the way, get a res cleaned and reset for germinating the next round and then get the remaining plants down before the roots on the new ones are out the 4" rockwool blocks and in danger of getting tangled.

Anyway, pics of my Dr. feelgood in NFT.....
