.....I've been a sucker for pink trichomes since I first saw them and this wee BH I have now seems to have a ton of them:woohoo1:
:pass:

great pics
:pighug:
Those are great trich shots! What do you use to take the photos?

Thanks guys. The most important piece of kit I use for macro pics is a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens. Most macro (or perhaps more accurately micro) lenses, like the 100mm macro I also use, go as close as 1x magnification at the sensor but that's where the MP-E starts and it goes as close as 5x. Couple that with the sort of resolution you get on recent Canon DSLRs and a nice flashgun and that's about as good as things get for shooting macro hand held, IMHO of course:smokeit:

This is a 1x magnification shot of the Dr Feelgood in aeroponics....

...the actual size of the area in that pic is 22.3 x 14.9mm as that's as far away as that lens can focus and that's the size of the sensor in my camera. That's where most macro lenses stop and where the MP-E starts.

This is why I don't change lenses much.....

And a crop from another shot to get a better look at the pink trichome heads.....

.....and the calyx surface (feel free to correct me here folks) looking like some sort of alien landscape.....

That's what the MP-E can do at it's closest focus distance (highest magnification). It's not intended to be used with extension tubes and teleconvertors but I might give it a try anyway......they'll make the images bigger but whether or not I can resolve any more detail remains to be seen.
:pass:

I can't get enough of those close ups. They look so interesting.

Thanks guys, I haven't got enough of these pink bits yet either......wonder what they look like sparkling in the sunshine:smoking:

Might have to try another one in a cold corner to start with and see if I can recreate the colour and get bigger buds.

The top of the Dr feelgood I took out of aeroponics once it got going and then put it in used Plant Magic soil and fed it out the nearest hydro res.....

A fuzzy snap of the whole plant....

Gotta go to work now so the aeroponics bud shots will have to wait.
