Indoor The Giant Dr. Feelgood Project

loverly white trictchy goodness ! looking great kush!

thanx for the comparison description :pimp:! .....I honestly thought the aero would be more % than nft ! its can be a speedier advantage though root growth though with the no media for the time it takes the roots to take to weave through the nft fabric !
yes i understand it takes growers time to notice the changes they have made for a positive or negative effect wether changing nutes brands an every other element in any certain grow method agreed ! ive changed lots of that type of thing in feed elements ect an yes agreed its good to use a nutes for abit to get the feel of it an knowing how much you can add to res without needing a EC pen anymore ! thats were im at now ! the less hassel the better ! i find just a few drops of ph down ( mine is 81% phos acid type) an that few drops amount lowers my 40 litre res from 6.1 to 6.0 ..things like that dont half help but yes takes the time of mistake to gain the knowledge of what your doing !
the mister system your suggesting sound boss kush , if you do dabble in that technique . i would be really interested to watch it unfold ! i suppose an air tight container would be needed to stop the mist escaping ? like an dwc tote or something in the mannor :passit:

It's tempting to try just 1 Dr Feelgood in aero next so we can get a better idea of what that looks like. I think I could narrow the gap between aero and NFT with the little air hose thing that goes on the NFT pump but it makes a really horrible noise as the pump is splashing on a mixture of air and water which sounds exactly like a res running low on nutrient solution so I don't like using them.

I'm not so sure the roots get slowed down by NFT matting but I think the limiting factor is how much oxygen you can get into the nutrient solution and then maintain that concentration throughout the root zone. Aeroponics is designed to address that by making more surface area to aerate nutrient solution with and deliver it more evenly......bit like DWC but without the slow start because the roots can't reach the res....... in aero the res goes to the roots.:cool1:

I'm still a slave to the EC and pH meters though.......just added 20 litres or so of water to the res, fed the soil with the scum off the top of the nutrient solution in the res, checked EC (1.6) so splashed a wee drop nutes in and checked pH (6.8....yikes!) so added about 1ml of pH down and rolled a joint. Now I've smoked that joint it's time to check again and hopefully EC will be closer to 2.0 and pH closer to 5.5 then I'll go away and try to come back when it's back up at about 6.2 before adding water......

Oh aye, did another res change yesterday........get better at those by giving up trying to do it on a wednesday. Wednesday i get loads of water and res change before work on Thursday seems to make best use of the times nobody else is around as i can never get organised enough on Tuesdays:cuss:

1ml of pH down only got me to 6.2 so I've put most of another ml in and had a few more joints and made tea:coffee:

some right jungle warfare your going through there ! :pimp::smoker1: nice rain forest kush !

Agreed ! it would be a more fairer compare to see the same amount of plants in each system alongside and what both systems can pull paired up against one another ! :jointman: sounds a great experiment  !

The amounts you feed yours seem high mate ! i never reach .7 or (490ppm ) in my nft ever ! i have done in the past though !.........the thing with feeding big amounts is it stiffens the solution and makes buffering sensitivity more fragile which causes the ph to swing more often& easily with phosphorus being acid and potassium being alkaline and with the more of both elements added together will take the more time to mix and the more time to be able the test the ph properly ! thats why i feed much less my ph dosnt swing out of wack that quick !

yes reservoir changing can be labouring at the modest of times hey ! this is what i do for my res changing kush!
the pump was off my aero system , it maybe the same one your using o your aero, an the pipe was off a hand fuel pump that handily fitted on end of pump ! saves me moving anything ! by transfering the water too & from reservoir in buckets ! and if i want the res nice an stirred up when adding nutes i just put the pipe an pump submerged to churn everything up easily  works well and better than jugging it out , i wish i had a pipe long enough to reach to the bathroom or drain .
