Indoor The Giant Dr. Feelgood Project

Nice harvest

"carpe diem"

Thanks buddy:smoking:

Next ones are a week old and in an Amazon 8 pot aeroponics system....

When setting it up I folded up some NFT matting to make a cushion for the delivery tubes to rest on so it would dampen the sound of plastic vibrating on plastic and tied a knot in some other bits of NFT matting to dangle through the drain holes to dampen the sound of trickling water.

I don't think there is much I can do about the sound of the pump but it's not too bad and the sound of the drops hitting the plastic inside the aeroponics chamber is supposed to reduce as it fills with roots, which judging by this might not be very long.....

See the air intake behind the res? That's my secret weapon lol.......the bathroom extracts into my growroom so my grows are powered by my girlfriend's farts!

nice harvest.:d5:i still have half a quart jar of DR feelgood:drool: it's very tasty, and my go to before bed.:pass:cant slap you, site wont let me. so..... :worship::kissass:and ass kissing is the order of the day.

Thanks bud. Right now it's my all day every day smoke as I've run out of everything else but have another (bigger) harvest of something else due in a week or so and then another one a week or so after that so hopefully I'll get to keep some of this stuff for a bit longer than I've manged to hold onto it before.
:smokeout:

The ones marked with 2 were out the 2nd batch of seeds a few days after I hurt the 1st batch....

Out of the 1st batch only the one between the temp display and water heater is still not doing much. The 2 at the top of the above pic seemed to recover and start growing quickly and the 2 in the bottom left were not too far behind but even the best of the 1st batch has a smaller set of 1st leaves than the 2 from the 2nd batch which didn't get left in the propagator for too long:

Those curly, wonky leaves at the bottom were my fault by the looks of it.

Now that it's setup the aeroponics system is no more hassle than NFT but it does make a bit more noise. Early days yet but at that one that doesn't look like it's going to be worth keeping with the rest is easy to remove and replace with an empty basket where if they had of been in NFT and had roots in matting it might just be safer to leave it in.

:pass:

looking great kush ! i look forward to see how the aero system performs for you . should well get you a quick start ! :cool1:

Most of them seem to be cooking on gas now.....

The best 2 of the 1st batch are the furthest on at day 17;

(sorry for poor focus.....the bumpy surface on top of the Amazon system seems to confuse my compact camera)

Another couple of the 1st batch are not far behind:

However the last of 1st batch is still struggling and has been over taken by the 2nd batch which I think is on day 14:

Stunted one on the right above, younger plant left.

My favourite is the one from the 2nd batch which is roughly equidistant from both 600w lights:

The runt I'm still planning on taking out real soon but I kinda wish I had space to take out my favourite and see what it does in it's own system......but I don't and 5 active reservoirs to maintain is already more than enough so I'm not doing that.

I was hoping the runt would make enough of a recovery to be worth finishing in soil but I don't think it is yet.
:pass:

wow ! the root length already coming out is impressive ! good one  , nice pics
equidistant !, that's a new one , i had to do some gestimation of definition lol ! :confused1:
what I found with the way the sprayers are positioned in them aeros is that some plants are in a more favourite positions to get a better full round spray than others , in early veg ive changed 1 plant not doing well an changed places with 1 that was doing ok an couple of days ahead the one doing ok was having the same effect in the position ? you may find that I don't know if it was just me !

Aye bud, the pots in the middle look like they should get spray from all sides where the ones at the side might only get sprayed some of the way round......the runt got moved to the middle after those pics and the ones doing better are now in their final positions as it was tricky to get the pot back in the hole without catching roots coming out near the top of the pot.

They do seem to grow pretty fast in this thing though....here's hoping fogponics turns out to even faster and much quieter:cheers:

Don't suppose you've seen a nice fogponics kit that would be ideal for a single plant? From what I've seen I'm thinking I just buy the ultrasonic fogger(s) and DIY a pot to put them in.

Any idea how many heads I'll need on a fogger? I've seen ones advertised online for a hundred quid or so that have 9 or 10 heads but maybe that's too much in something like a 20L res with a single Dr Feelgood in it.....can you have too much fog? Maybe 5 or 6 would be enough???

For a pot I was thinking I might get another GT205 tank and use it upside down on top of another tank, drill a hole for a net pot in the top and make a hatch for res maintenance......16 quid and some zip ties and suitable silicon sticky stuff should sort that bit:smoking:

Or I could just cut the bottom out of the aeroponics system and replace the pump and all the gubbins with a fogger.

yes I get ye ! about catching the roots on the holes . theyre fast systems arnt they ! mine had a hissing well noise I didn't like :finger:

foggers look interesting ! In the past i have looked into fogponics and nearly went into that route but not understanded enough yet about how long the foggers may last ?
its a pretty unforgiving method if you lose electricity for a few hours like the aero technique ! , you would litraly have to open top up an continually spray the roots to keep damp till electric came back on ! that's why I like nft ! the matting & rockwool cubes are 2 extra media's to keep the roots from drying out.
kush it sounds a great idea converting the aero into fogponic ! :cooldance: I would love to see more fog technique ! just been looking on ebay therse loads of different kind an all different prices ??
