Hi all, today I took some close pics of the Fast Bud #1, these are not very clear so sorry in advance...

FAST BUD a.jpg FAST BUD b.jpg

I marked the supicious zones. These parts are shaped like a seed, and have little hairs coming out of them. I'm not sure what kind of preflowers are these, because in my other auto plants I always saw little white hairs coming out directly from the stems. However, these resemble little balls... I would like to know if these are definitely male preflowers or maybe only some weird shaped female preflowers... I will try to take better pics soon, and in the meantime decide what to do if it is definitely a male plant. There is no other place I could put the male into, so I will have to either throw it away or grow it along the other 2 plants, maybe this way I could get some curious strains to experiment with and some lower quality, no-sinsemilla weed...

Anyway, I would be really grateful to anyone who could point this out for me... is anyone able to recognize the sex in those two pics? If so please tell!

Here is a general pic also taken today. They are good looking, but somewhat smaller than I thought they would be at this stage (they are 25 days old).

Well that's it for now, please comment if you have any idea about the first 2 pics and the Fast Bud sex... I'm nervous about this dammit! Hehe I need to relax :toke:

See you later! :peace:

From your pictures it is still a little hard to tell, but I can tell you that the plant is female.....
Those two sections marked look like new leaves/stem forming, but you should keep a close eye on it.

Stunted Sex

That's a BIG relief, thanks a lot friend!!

I'll keep an eye on her anyway, just in case. Well, I'll keep eyes on all of them hehehe but paying closer attention to the Fast Bud.

See you later, and thank you again ;)

Hi all again! Well, I'm happy to announce that the Fast Bud is certainly a female :booya: those seed-shaped formations were new growth zones, with an strange shape indeed for my limited knowledge ;)

I am worried about the Green Poison Auto though. It began showing some stains on a couple of leaves and was obviously having trouble growing. The growth had stopped for some days, and leaves began to curl. In fact, all my 3 plants show some leaves curling, but the GPA is the worst looking one. It is the smallest plant even though it is the oldest one. So I decided to replace my soil. I took the GPA out of its pot, as if I was doing a trasplant, but in fact just replaced the used soil mix with some new, less strongly nuted soil mix, and reused the same pot. I'm not sure about this being a smart move, but I had to try something, I just could not stand the poor plant looking so sad...

This "quasi-trasplant" was done the day before yesterday, and today I took some pics of the girls. The unknown Assorted Auto and the Fast Bud look good, they also have some leaves curled but their color is nice and have a good size. The Green Poison Auto looks more or less the same than before, I wish it recovers from the soil change shock soon enough to be able to grow some more before going full flower. Today I also fed them some water with Plagron Terra Bloom in reduced dosage. We'll see how they react in the following days.

BTW I am researching about growing in coco, it seems like a good idea because I could use smaller pots and plants would grow more, has anyone a nice reference site for growing in coco? Tried searching AFN's threads but there is not much info about coco. Thanks in advance!

Thanks also for reading, this is all for now. I'm out! Peace :peace:

Hi all again! Today I took some more pics. The Green Poison Auto is still behind :( it looks sad, although I am optimistic and hope it will recover. The color is not bad but the leaves are down and looks really stunted. No more LST will be applied for now.

The unknown seed from the Assorted Auto pack is the best looking of the pack. There is an additional cola forming on the left side of the main cola. This plant has a great color and a healthy development so far. I will probably apply more LST to this one soon.

The Fast Bud is also looking good. The initial weirdness has not completely dissapeared but the plant looks better each day. This one has two additional colas forming, and will be LST'd soon too, so that each cola receives some light ;)

Also, today I finally got my 1st pH meter. It comes pre-calibrated and looks good, it gave me a reading of 6.9 in a sample of bottled spring water which has a label specifying pH 7. Anyway I will use the calibration solutions to make sure and to learn too! And then I will prepare some nuted water with proper pH (and double check using pH strip papers!).

BTW, would it be possible to store nuted water for a period of time? I mean, if I prepare a full bottle of mixture but use only 1/4, would it decay somehow? How long could I keep it? I will be using mostly Plagron Terra Bloom, looks like a better option than the Compo Guano...

Thanks and see you soon! :peace:

Most of us don't keep it for more than a week but that is fine. Bubble it if you have a means to.

What do you mean by "bubble"? To fill the mixture with CO2 like when carbonating homebrew? Anyway thanks for the reply. I will probably use 1 liter bottles to store my nutrient solution, and that will probably last less than 1 week. I am checking pH now; plain water plus nutes has a pH of 6.5. I will add lemon juice drops until I get closer to 6.

Use a air pump with a air stone to keep the nutrient aerated. Also adjusting your ph half a point down using lemon will add sugars to your mix.nothing wrong with that mind you, but it makes storing it for more than a few days impractical.

Great info! Then, I will mix only the exact amount needed each time. I don't want to screw my plants just for this! BTW would vinegar be a good option to lower pH? Is it dangerous? It really would be easier to use vinegar, I have wine vinegar, apple vinegar and several others, and this way I would not need to squeeze a lemon each time I want to lower pH. I know purchasing a PH-down solution would be easier, but the money is scarce ATM...

Thanks a lot again, good day! :peace:
