Buzzard takes a trip down the Breeding Rabbit Hole

We are at day 18 if my math is correct. The kids have taken off and are starting to show their gender. So far I can see 4 with balls and 2 with pistils. Hopefully will know all in the next few days. I am seeing basically two phenos , with one being taller and sparser, and the other is a shorter and bushier build. We are getting to the interesting part of the grow now and I expect things to start happening quickly. I will have to start some gentle lst to get them to spread out.

Thanks for stopping by for a look...........

Looking healthy my friend

It is Day 26 I believe and things are moving along quite nice. I culled the runt of each pot so am down to 8 plants. The first picture is 3 girls and one yet to show but it is looking female as well. The second picture is 1 girl and 3 boys. The tall one in back is the girl. I am still going to cull 2 of the males and I think I will also cull the center plant in the first pic. In the second pic , I think I will keep the front right male as it has the nicest structure and looks real healthy. The final pic is of my chosen male showing balls.

Thanks for dropping by...............we are off to the races now...........:growing:

Nice bro , you are on your way. All looking nice and healthy.

The kids are at about Day 33 and hitting the flowering stretch hard. I have made final selections and have 3 different phenos for girls and an awesome looking stud to keep them happy. The first pic is the male in front and a tall sparse female in back. The second pic is a shorter bushy girl in front and a taller and bushy girl in back. They are starting to set their flowers and are looking pretty good over all. Had a bit of clawing from heavy nitrogen but that should change as I have moved to bloom nutrients. Things are moving along nicely......thanks for stopping by.............:growing:

Day 40 and the kids are getting tall. The two stretchy girls have passed the 4 foot mark from the top of the pot. The male has passed the 3 foot mark and is getting ready to dump his load. I have been collecting the early male flowers as they ripen and saving the pollen. I was hoping to give the girls more time before the big dump happens. The girls are sporting some nice little pom poms so I guess the show is about to begin. Thanks for dropping by.......... :growing:

Day 48 and I feel like a failed parent because all of my girls are knocked up. I think I will chop the male as he has dumped a lot of pollen. I managed to save a bit for future use as well. The girls stretched a lot and the two tallest ones had to be supercropped. I have never grown a male cannabis plant before and I was a little surprised to find that it had one lone female bud on it. Not sure if that is a normal thing or not. I have never heard of a male plant hermi, and it hasn't been stressed at all so not sure what is going on. I scoured the entire plant and there is just the one bud with hairs. Other than that I guess we will let the girls fatten up and finish.

Hi my friend
It's possible to find male hermi plants. I got also found some in one of my crosses. After several conversations with other breeders I decided to not use them but there were a few ( also DjShort ) telling me they called super males who will give you a very potent offspring in the next generation. As I said I decided to go the traditional way with my cross and not use them.

That is very interesting. I guess we will see if we have some good potency when I pheno hunt the offspring. Looking forward to work this through a few generations and see what we can come up with.
