Dinafem TehSnow's 2nd Grow, Critical + 2.0 Auto

Day 29

Discoloration on multiple leaves on all plants, the one that's little bit late doesn't have it in such scope. I have definitely watered too often plus nitrogen toxicity. I have defoliated the big fan leaves that were obscuring branches or started pushing them away, they so happen to be the ones affected. Bottom line all plants are girls and they are growing  I'll be watering today, the pots are bone dry.

hi tehsnow,
What is the purpose of plucking when growing autos? Is this the reason '' I have defoliated the big fan leaves that were obscuring branches or started pushing them away, they so happen to be the ones affected'' or there is something that i should learn from you? :woohoo:

I have a ProBox 60 (60x60x160cm) tent, and I squeeze in four 11l plants. So far they have only been indica-dominant bushy plants. I pluck very damaged leaves and defoliate throughout for better light penetration and airflow. I have only one small fan, right above the canopy, as I can't quite fit one below. In this case I rely on the air coming out of the passive airslits on the sides of the tent.

Lollipopping, I do it to get rid of everything below the top canopy. This lets the plants focus only on the top growth, without having to spend any energy on growing popcorn buds below the top canopy. Since they are bushy plants, there isn't much light penetration down below.

Defoliating, plucking, lollipopping just lets you to better manage the plants, focus their energy only on the canopy, it's also easier to water them etc.

I pretty much have the same size pots as you, and basically the same light, marketed under PopularGrow instead of GalaxyHydro, but it seems to be the same hardware. I was thinking I would need two of them for four plants, but it seems like one is working just fine for you. Was your last grow with four plants also?

Ah thank you for the info. Dont get me wrong, because im getting oft confused. (like stay as a noob)

what do you think about this post?

It's largely debatable topic. I read threads that said you shouldn't touch anything like if the plants were made out of glass, I also read threads about defoliation so drastic it leaves the plants almost bare but the grower actually increased the plant's yields . I say, if you are growing two anubis auto's, try it on them for comparison. Defoliate one and leave the other one alone.

It was the same setup, less nutes and different strain, but yeah, four plants in 11l pots. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/barneys-farm-sin-tra-bajo-auto.56414/

Day... errr 62

This was the second last feed, next feed is in two days (day 64) and starting with day 66, I'll only water the plants with ph'd water, molasses, and overdrive (for few days). I'll leave the plants to dry-out well at least two days before the harvest. I took some pictures, some of them are nice, some of them aren't. Two plants got really hit hard with deficiencies, the other ones are okay-ish. When looking back at the previous grow, I can see the difference in yields, bud structure and thickness of the colas.

Previously, I started during really hot summer in my attic mini-flat, it was constantly hot, the AC was running the whole day, I hit +32°C multiple times but the plants still came out strong and potent. This time I was having difficulties with low temps, sometimes it was only 17°C and the heaters had hard time heating the room during night.

Hmm, i think, i did unknowingly defoliation and it was the reason that my plants were so huge (with help some lst)
Well at least huge for me lol https://www.autoflower.org/attachments/img_20161110_082615-jpg.657002/
I sure will do it again. There is always enough food since its hempy, 24/0 lights, nice airflow etc. thanks for the info again. sorry for bombing your thread.Between i cant see your pics. Just:

Looking fantastic mate. Lots of nice multiple budsites that have swelled up great  I agree 1 more feed of nutrients then onto a plane water flush for 7 days. You are not far from the finish line now mate and that is showing in the bud production and trichome color and development

Keep up the great work and thank you for the picture update mate much appreciated :bong:

Until the next update :slap:

All the best

Mark.
