Grow Mediums Steely's first hydro grow. LED DWC.

Hey Steely, I'm excited to see this unfold. I am growing in soil currently however I fully intend on going dwc after it's finished so I was hoping for a good one I could follow and I found it, thank you sir. Best of luck on this grow and all future grows....

Cheers FreeLivin :)

The hose arrived so the system is setup, i'm just monitoring the levels in case one pump is noticeably stronger than the other.

A REAL pain in the arse to balance both flows :

This is why a single pump is better. Dual pumps are always a pain in the ass, and if one fails, you'll have a flood. But when you can't keep both res on the same level there are not many options except to make it a flood and drain.

Looks like you've got plenty of things happening to keep you going steely!
Those roots look great man!

Yes but i need two pumps for this setup :(

New plan - too hard to balance the flow!

The chiller bucket pumps mix into the dwc bucket.

I cut an overflow hole into the dwc and pipe it into the chiller, so the outflow is turned on and off naturally at the right time.

I use the other pump to circulate the dwc.

She's grown half an inch in 12 hours !

Lots of growth the last four days, here's a day 15 and day 19 comparison :

I can't use the new plan since the overflow has to be level with or downhill to the chiller bucket, so i would need a series of holes down the side of the cabinet to run the tubing through as the plant gets taller and i move her shelf down .. lol the intricacies of all this are frustrating in a fun way!

I think it's best to incorporate the chilling into the auto topping up, so i'm going to take apart the dehumidifier today and take photos as i go in case anyone else needs to go down this route!

Cheers,
