your water will oxygenate better with small, more difuse bubbles. My way i use two small-medium stones one to each side. Even the smaller bubbles are stirring the water.Either that or if you really want to keep the water mixed up, buy the smallest m submersible pimp you can find, and let it recirculate the water. I'm going to do that in my 16 gallon res when Its up again. In a 5 gallon bucket, the airstones are plenty IMO.

Well, nearly. My nutes should arrive within the next hour

Been preparing, this is the box now with the 25L top-up tank on top :

Drilled a hole in the top-up tank and ran a line out of it, using silicone glue on the OUTSIDE ONLY to seal any gaps.

Then drilled a hole through the top of the box to run the line through :

The line runs down the cab wall behind the filter :

Then into the DWC bucket (left some extra length for when i have to lower the plant as she grows) :

Thermometers and silicone glue :

Bucket thermo mounted in cab :

Ran a test to ensure the seals held and the float valve worked with the full pressure of 25L bearing down on it, all good :

pHd some water to 6.0 in the bucket and chucked the hydroton in there, don't know if i have to do that with hydroton? But i am anyway!

I checked the bubbles in an empty drinks bottle made of clear plastic and they are lots of really tiny ones as well as large so hopefully i should be ok.

Just waiting for the nutes to arrive.

pHing the water was a pain coz i only have test strips at the moment so i have ordered a pH pen.

My ppm meter said 560, the manufacturer tells me mine uses a 0.7 conversion factor so this equates to an EC of 0.8, which is spot on for veg from what i've read?

Can't wait to get the little lady into that net pot and get those bubbles going and see what the system is like when it's running!

She's been enjoying REAL sunshine for her first few days of life, this is her just now, day 4, sorry for blur :

It's easy to forget plants are living, sensing things. Been nice watching her turn to face the sun through the course of the day, makes me feel bad about sticking her into a box, lol !

But seriously, nice setup you got their. I like the compact nature of it and everything has its place. Your planning to lst this thing or what? Its going to get rather big quick no? I;m jealous of he LED. Looking forward to seeing how it works and pics of it on! In no time flat youl have big buds on your hands my friend!

Im waiting on my seedling to work its taproot down through the hydroton to the water. I assume your in this stage too? Ive never done this, got my fingers crossed roots shoot out soon.

Mate I am not sure how it works in hydro, you need to keep a minimum ec of 0.8 in canna coco but hydro I have got nothing. If you can have a lower ec I would to be safe, up it if they look like they need it.

Don't know about those nutes, that seems high to me. Less is more after all. I would personally. Sure its not 7ml per gl?

Ionic is 7ml per l in any formulation. But I would go half strength for sure. If you notice any yellowing then up it. Check the ec doesn't go above 1.2
