Lol ya, autos have come a long way. Old concept though. They tried back in the day, but I guess everyone was so caught up in being able to grow hybrids and plants in closets they easily gave up. I don't blame them honestly. Would have been super beneficial if someone would have kept trying back then.My buddy tried autos 7 yrs ago and they were junk so he refused them tip watching me this year now asked if after work we can get him set up after I've had him shopping last 3 weeks and everything is here and ready to build and germ. Going to taste a test bud of the quick one also it seems fitting for the occasion.
My first autoflowers were ok. I did cream of the crop, cash crop and wos Afghan Kush Ryder. I got bud off both, but I wasn't impressed. The following year I started off with the quick one, then ordered some c4 matic, and had sour livers for a comparison grow, I also had a Skywalker for comparison that I tried the fall before, bit they didn't work out. I took the 60-70 days literally and ended up with very little bud outdoors. Last year was my break through though. I just kept pushing it. And this is my 3rd year with autoflowers and I'm comfortable I guess. I've got a lot more experience from Running a bunch of em at a time, different nutes, different transplant methods, etc. I still think Letting them get their start indoors is best, unless you have a greenhouse or means to keep them from being over watered, extra hours of light helps too. I was hoping to do that this year, but having to move and all has put a hold on most of what I wanted to do this summer. A few weeks ago I had 37 autos planted. Now I'm down to 11. Unsure if I'll have room to grow them all the way I want. 6 are ducksfoot autos 2 are the gorilla gold×ducksfoot. The sour diesel from Royal, two, 2 fast 2vast from Heavyweight, and a BlackBerry cobbler from Gabe. Gave the rest away.
One way I like to start them is in net pots. I had a bunch of 3inch net pots a buddy gave me. They work great, I'd cut every other tine out of the bottom. Larger net pots would be perfect if net pots were cheaper anyways. They have these new fertil pots I want to try, they are like peat pots but better, the roots grow into them just like soil, so it's a flawless transplant basically. At least that's the idea. I haven't tried them yet. Found out about them through kis organics podcasts. Kis sells them too.
