Something Old and Something New

Mehhh..

I haven't used my autopots in over a year.. Now I remember why, lol.. I feel like they drastically increase the finish time. Both of these plants should be much further along.. Hopefully they are close to finished by the middle/end of June.

The clones are starting to show sex.. They haven't branched out much yet, but Im hoping that changes in the next week. I've got some STS waiting for the best looking clone, lol. I'll try to make S1 seeds if the timing matches up. If not, just collecting pollen will suffice.

Other than that, all is well.. Both plants got a top dress last week or so.. I turned off the res for a day or so and let the trays dry out.. Then top dressed and watered from the top. I top watered for a couple of days then turned the res back on. Blue Roof looks to be at the start of adding color. Some of the tops have a pink/purplish hue to them.

I'm envious, looks like your having so much fun! Thankyou for sharing your experience(s).

Another week or so.. I took them off the autopot res and disconnected the airdomes. The auto pots literally double the finish times.. Im on a schedule. So it's hand watering from here on.

How do you not get gnats with all the dead leaves in the pot on the left?

tlo with top dress only or bottled organic nutes? curious to see how they fare in such small containers with organics. gl

I use BTI if ever needed. Mulch is actually a good way to prevent gnats.. This is my lazy version of mulch, lol. I usually cover the entire top soil with cedar chips. Never a gnat issue that way!

Your dark devil cross has a real interesting appearance with those two main stalks.

I topped it once early on. It's gonna be a pretty good yielder though! It think I'm starting to see a little color. What's crazy is that it reeks of straight grape syrup! I almost killed her off early on. Glad I didn't.

I got off bottles about a year ago. This grow has been just compost teas, and a dry organic top dress nutrient pack from Build A Soil. They were top dressed a week or two ago. Some of the leaves have a little bit of nute burn so I think they are good to go through harvest. It's my first time using this soil and I could've waited longer to top dress.

Ahh, thanks for the info. I'll give that a try

Welp.. Let's just say, lesson learned... Lol. So, a little more than a week ago I decided to stop using the autopot res and hand water.. BIG mistake, lol. So many variables were at play that I didn't consider before hand.. Mainly how heavy or light each plant was feeding. Things were cool for about 4 days, then both plants jumped off the cliff, lol. The unnamed cross basically died. Completely yellowed and just gave up.. I had to chop it. There was no bringing her back. The Blue Roof took a hell of a beating but actually survived. I've been nursing her back to health. You can see how she started eating through her leaves. She was a lighter feeder and didn't get as much damage. The autopot res is back on and Im gonna leave it that way, lol. Still about a month to go, but she's starting to stack. I also got rid of the clones because I had no real plan or use for them, lol. I just wanted to show my cloning tech, and that it's technically possible with autos.

Blue Toof on day something or other:

10 days later.. This gal is still packing on weight. Id say another 2 weeks or so hopefully. The buds have a pink hue to them and the smell has a heavy berry profile. I didn't expect coke can colas, but that's the beauty of the autopot system. The finish time is definitely extended, but the genetics get a more than fair shot to shine. This has been a seamless grow. Other than the nute burn on the tips from early over feeding (first time using this new Verifier soil), she looks super healthy going into the final weeks. I think I used a compost tea twice.. And used a light top dress prior to flower that caused the over feeding. Dass it. Shes been on water only for the last couple of res changes, so she may stay to fade.. We shall see.. Don't mind the drooping leaves, the lights just came on.
