Something Old and Something New

Welp.. It's chop week! I've pulled her out of the tent and will have her chilling around the house for a bit. Im gonna take the next few days to remove the fans leaves and prep her for drying. She yielded much better than I had imagined. Smells like berries and cream. I have a feeling the colors will darken as it dries. She's a thick girl for sure, lol.

Anyone wanna guess the final dry weight?? Maybe I'll send a little something to whoever guesses closest. This was in a 2.2 gal autopot.

Good stuff man, interesting read throughout the journal. Do you have another journal planned or going now to follow along with?

Also, I'm guessing about 70g dry.

Wow.. I totally forgot about this journal!! Lol.. My bad guys! And yes 4D, I do have a current journal going.. I've got 2 autos running right now in one journal (https://www.autoflower.org/threads/gonna-grow-some-triple-grape.78265/page-2#post-2301556), and I'm about to start another journal for the 2 plants I germed for the Dinafem grow off! I'm always growing, lol. Im addicted!

Thanks man, I know how you feel. I was bit by the growing bug 3 years ago now and haven't stopped since lol

I'm currently doing an experiment with 3x Fantasmo Express, trying to dial in Megacrop. I get decent plants with an ok yield, but have yet to have a healthy plant from start to finish. Always run into a deficiency or lockout of some kind, usually just after the transition to flowering.

Hahaa! Yeah bro.. I lived in that exact wheelhouse for over a year. Mega crop (v2 or 3) was the last nutrient line I tried and what led me to find the grow style that fits me. There are three major realizations that I had to come to.. 1st.. That none of these nutrient lines are tailored for autos. Most arent even tailored for cannabis in general.. 2nd.. Autos don't need much.. At all. In reality, we're talking about a plant with a life span of about 90 days. Some 70 days. A decent basic soil ( like ocean forrest) will get you through the first 21-28 days without adding a single thing... So we're talking about 60 days of care, lol... And 3rd.. You don't need to feed or use nutrients every time you water! That's a main cause of lockouts.. I started by using the standard schedule of Feed (use nutes) - Water (plain) - Water - Feed.. On that schedule nutes are used twice a week. It works well.. Now that I can read my plants, I use water only until they tell me different.. And even then it's just a light feeding. Once I wrapped my head around those 3 things, growing made much more sense and became a whole lot easier. It takes time, everyone learns differently and at there own pace. But of you can understand those three things, you'll save yourself a few headaches and sick plants! Im always here to help!

Hella good points!

Beauty, thanks for the tips. I've learned alot in my few years of growing a couple auto's at a time, and it's really all thanks to these forums and people like yourself.

Just in case you're interested, my experiment is going to try 3 different regiments.
All are in 2 gallon fabric pots of Pro-mix HP with 20% extra perline. Pre-soaked with 0.5g/gal Megacrop and Sweet Candy

Pot 1 will be a control pot where I am giving plain ph'd water only until it asks for a feed. And when it does, it will be single doses of light Megacrop/Sweet Candy, maybe 1-2 g/gal.

Pot 2 will be using most of Greenleaf's line (Megacrop, sweet candy, Bud explosion, and sea kelp) at their recommended strengths, alternating feed-ph water-feed.

Pot 3 will be a feed every watering at low dose of Megacrop and sweet candy, but will be trying out a hybrid approach of bloom nutes with Fox Farms Tiger bloom at the start of flowering and transitioning to Bud explosion for the last half of flowering. Basically I've read that the plants like more P in early flowering and more K later and this may help get closer to those requirements.

We'll see how it goes, if things turn out interesting I may create a post to share the results. If all hell breaks loose I'll probably keep it to myself and cut my losses lol.
