Dutch Passion Some Blue-Berries in a closet

Well gave the lil beauties der first taste of veg nutes this morning, as these lil dudes are fairly sensitive I went with .2ml of plagron alga grow per litre of distilled water ph down to 6.3 using lemon juice..I have left it as late as possible to feed used bio bizz all mix which has kept them fed for 25 days notice some N deficiency last night on the older leaves.. This grow I'm leaving the girls tell me when they need there nutes :D:peace:

Picture time Day 21 had a bit of a boo boo with the LST BB no2 snapped just under the main cola cut about half way through re tied her to put pressure down on the cut and taped it up with some electrical tape I have every bit of faith she'll be ok..

Apart from that the girls are really doing well side braches are gearing themselves up for future bud sites pistils are beginning to appear on both plants so happy days..Smell is getting stronger and they both responded well to the feeding 2 days ago...Enjoy the pics and all comments are always welcome oh and a big thank you to Aunty mossy and Hazy for my first badge I'm really chuffed :peace: dudes

Apologies about the sideways photo's windows wont leave me rotate them...

I got a Ph questions kind of stumped .. I need some advice on how to read the run off after watering to figure out my soil PH. I heavily watered my plants today to get some run off watered about 1.5L and got about 100ml run off the water in was 6.4ph and the run off was 7 does this mean that my soil is on the slightly higher side of the scale and how can I work it out for future reference thanks for any help AFN'rs really appreciate it..

Looking good Resin as is the shiny new badge. funny thing is, i do what you're saying not to do with LST. my understanding was that the stems are more ridged after watering...but i could be wrong. anyway i'm sure you're repair job will do the trick..i pulled a branch out of the main stem in the last grow and tied it back on with string and it healed perfectly well. Good luck with rest of the grow fella.

Edit: Ask Goauto about pH he has the formula to work out your run off.

I understand what you are saying about the stems becoming more ridged after watering I usually water in the mornings and do a tying session when I get home from work the plants all along have reacted well and were very flexible whoever today the soil was very dry and i had bearly pulled the string when she snapped.

I was putting it down to the stem being harder as the respiration rate of the plant was alot slower due to the lack of available water to the plant thus causing the stem to be alot drier and brittle as there is little water flowing up to the leaves. While previously the soil was damp allowing the plant to have a higher reperation rate causing a greater amount of water to flow thorugh the stem to the leaves leaving the stem more flexible. This is my understanding of it which could be completely wrong..What do you think dude??

but if i think about any longer. i'll talk myself out of it..lol :smokebuds:

Sorry to hear about the broken Blueberry, Resin. I hope she heals quickly!
Here's a puff of gentle healing Karma for that girl... :smokebuds:

I was almost sold on the idea of lst-ing soon after the plants were watered. Sounds about right: watery, soggy, bendy, flexy.. They all kinda have the same jingle. But when you really think about it, when are the plants the least rigid? While drooping when they're thirsty. :wiz:
Of course, that's just me being theoretical. Other than pulling branches out for form, circulation, and penetration, I've never done any 'hardcore' lst jobs.
:smokebuds:

Sounds like a supercrop in action, get some tape and next time bend the stem over a couple pf days, no prob, my auto X main cola broke early on I taped her up and she is growing nicely!!!

Haha im always talking myself out of things dude it happens an awful lot what Noods said makes sense to me I don't know what has happened but the lil one has bounced back already no signs of stress or "sad" leaves anywhwere above the cut.

That is very true noods why didn't i Think of that genius..I really don't know what happend but its done now and she is after making a great recovery thank you ofr the karma ...

Ya an accidental supercrop:eek:..thats the thing bro I have been doing it very gently over the last week or so slow and steady wins the race. And I was very gently pulling her down she bealry even moved and snap que the total freak out by me haha..She's well now all the leaves are standing straight out i posistioned her so the main cola wud lean to the main light while putting pressure on the cut...Im very happy with how they are both doing so far..Thanks for stopping by bro..

Rough Calculation Guide:
Here's some good info on ph.....
If your runoff pH is higher than your starting pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5
