Grow Room Smorf's micro #1

Day 81

She still isnt needing water yet.
Took off alot more leaves that were starting to curl in. I dont think any leaves were doing this before so im seeing this as a sign that she is being closer to finishing.

Im thinking her last watering is going to be tomorrow and harvest friday on day 84 possibly.

Should i worry about when the last watering is in relation to when i harvest? Will it effect drying or anything?

Trichs are mostly cloudy. I think i did see very few amber. Should start seeing more soon so i can be sure that i did see a very select few amber.:smoking:

First pic is before i took more leaves off, you can see how they are starting to curl in. The rest of the pics are after taking the leaves off.

I agree you did great, if the soil/mix is looking like it needs watering tomorrow id water it, but if its still damp you will possibly be able to run her out till Friday, if not you could always just do a half water tomorrow and see how it goes.

I'll be harvesting a Think Different or two come Friday as well, was expecting them to go longer but the one is finished and is ambering up as well.

As for the amber trichromes i back up Dudeski comment on some just don't amber up, or at least when they do its a very slight change that is very hard to notice, also some plants don't go cloudy either. I go by the slowing of growth, swollen calyx's and dying pistils as a sign of it being done, then use a loupe to do a final check to see where its at.

Again congrats on your first grow, just get a nice cure going and you'll be happy.

Thank you everyone for the advice and compliments.
I feel very blessed to have my first grow turning out so well.
All the helpful people and information here at AFN is awesome.
I think there is a good chance i wont be watering anymore and end up harvesting on friday.
Will update later when its time to check on her again and will come closer to deciding when to chop.
I plan on drying in paper bags inside the cab.
Got boveda 62s and hygrometer ready for the jars too.

Paper bags are good for sweating the buds if they dry out too fast, and slowing down there drying if you just partially leave them open, i wouldn't recommend throwing them in there right off the bat though, but everyone has their own methods for curing and drying, and what fits their local conditions, try it and see but really just being observant is key to a good cure.

For reference i've dried on racks with and without forced air, in cardboard boxes which act as a desiccant, done the bag thing, currently i just trim and then hang the whole plant in a cupboard for about 5-6 days then snip off the buds and throw them in a jar to sweat them and then try to bring them down slowly to around 60%.

You'll figure it out just be observant and you'll do fine

@Mr. Sparkle i read a good bit about paper bag drying and i think it will be a good way to dry so i plan to hang the paper bags inside my cab and leave the light off while drying.

Something about a 10% rule says one day per 10% rh in the drying area plus one day to dry the buds.
So im thinking its going to be 4-8 days to dry. Not sure. I will have to see what the humidity stays at in the cab after harvest.

I also wanted to ask about dolomite lime.
I forget who but someone said a tablespoon or two per gallon of media.
So i was planning on adding a half table spoon to the soil for my next grow in a half gallon fabric pot.
Does this sound about right?

Heres a pic of the dolomite lime i have. It was $8 for a 4lb bag delivered. If anyone knows better or cheaper options for dolomite lime for the next time i buy some let me know.

im sure you will have a good cure, as for the dolomite lime i recommended it for one the calcium and magnesium, and two a more importantly ph buffering, and that's the stuff and the amount you mentioned and suggested is correct, just mix it in well. As for cheaper source no, unless you have a real gardening acquaintance that might have some kicking around for there flower or vegetable beds, but that bag will last you a very long time so its gonna be a very very long time before you will need more.

Day 82

Gave 10oz water with 0.1ml mammoth p.(last watering)

I can now say for sure amber trichs are starting to appear.

Pretty sure friday/ day 84 is going to be the big day.:woohoo1:

Anyone care to guess yeild?
Half oz would be great but im mentally prepared to only get 7g lol..
