Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

Thanks @BCBudlady and @nicojellic , after the seedling stage, they were a breeze to grow. Good genetics fer sure!

Just started 8 Sweet & Sour x Stone Dragon. Not sure I have ever seen seeds with this much vigor. Exploding out of the Root Riot Cube
in both directions in just a couple of days. Thought I had at least today to prepare soil and pots for them, but they are screaming to be uppotted.
Don't want to stunt them by holding them back. These are regs I made last spring, so hoping for a female heavy mix. I will collect pollen for
another cross I have in mind. Updates soon.

Chop day - Day 76 - Bluestone (from Stone at the autoportal) - I have two plants going to chop today. This one is the more dominant expression that I have seen or grown. Really a top-notch plant that is not fussy about nutes and basically grows herself. She is pretty consistant about what she produces in my 1 gallon planters. She has been right around 1.5 ounces and is 75days seed to chop. This girl will be approximately 50 grams dry weight and was taken at day 76. She has a nice muted berry aroma to her, with a overbearing skunkiness in the background. She does not reek so much while growing unless she has been jostled during watering or gardening time. My buddies love her, she has become a keeper in my garden because of her consistency and all of the above. The 2nd one, different expression and new expression to me, will be cut later and I will update the thread then.
My photography skills, or lack thereof, are a problem with this batch of photo's. My apologies in advance. Now, onto the pictures...

Chop Day - Bluestone #3 - Day 76 - So, this girl has been the oddball of the family from early on. Her leaves have always been a shade (or two) darker then her sisters and darker then any other Bluestone I have previously run. Her smell during the chop did not have the same muted fruit with skunky background; instead she was a bit spicy with maybe a bit of fuel in the background. Because I didn't train her, there were some buds down low in the middle that were seriously lacking light. That may have held her wet weight down somewhat. And she was greasy more then she was sticky. But when the final totals were summed, she was 189 grams wet from a 1 gallon container and her sister earlier in the day was 192 grams from a 1 gallon container. There really is no surprise with these Bluestone's as they always produce similar numbers for me in my enviroment. Except for this new pheno, they always put on a show during fade as well. This girl had such a true purple to her, it reminded me of the NFL Minnesota Vikings uniforms if you have ever seen them in person. I tried to accurately capture that with these photo's. Spent a few more minutes taking the photos, since the earlier chop of the day was rushed and the photo's documenting it really showed. Now to the pictures...

Looks a treat to me mate. That's some tight chunky nugs.

Day 66 -
Last of the spring grow updates. This is @StickMan CBDNL. I must admit it seems I made a few mistakes or wrong moves with her, she would get fussy, I would correct, she she would go back to do her thing. She did not like my nute regimen using MegaCrop at 3g per gallon. Also Bud explosion at 1 gram per gallon. She seemed to have tip burn for most of her grow. At Day 35 or so, she started to show some CalMag deficiency. In all my other grows. version 2 of MegaCrop has had enough Calcium and Magnesium to keep the ladies happy. Unfortunately for her, it took me a couple of days to notice and diagnose this problem. She really has not been an issue for a vigilant grower, I was not as vigilant as I should have been. Also had to move the autocobs I had assigned to her a bit higher to make her happy. Her appearance, to me at least, seems to be different in person then in pictures. In person, she appears to be "shaggy", her pistils hang low rather then straight out. I am not sure if this is a hemp trait, although I think I may have seen it before. Not sure when I am going to chop. I will most like let the trichs guide me as I am looking to use this as night time meds. Non-descript fruiy aroma from a stemrub. Now the pictures...

This summer's growing experiment. Last spring as I used male Stone Dragon pollen to create seeds with Mephisto females Blue Toof Special, Gold Glue, and 24 Carat, I had a WTF moment. My Mephisto Sweet and Sour (Toof Decay x Sour Stomper) had just started to flower. Since I had collected more pollen then I would ever need, I decided to create seeds with the Sweet & Sour female as well. The S&S was a medium sized plant, so I decided to do only a couple branches rather then the whole plant. Fast Forward to 3 weeks ago, I was doing a germination test on the S&S x SD seeds, and after a successful 100% germination, I made the decision to not throw them away but instead place them Root Riot cubes and grow them. Short story long, I made some mistakes and lost a couple of them and decided to germinate a couple more. My goal was get a minimum of 3 females, and a couple of males. I settled on 8 plants hoping to achieve the m/f numbers I just stated. I will collect the male pollen, and if I get 2 or more females I will make more seeds. The pollen will also be used on a yet to be germinated Mephisto Sweet & Sour, and a Mephisto Sour Stomper. I am looking at a couple of other Mephisto females for crosses (Toof Decay, Grape Crinkle and others.).

So these girls are growing without issues, getting 3g of MegaCrop and 1g Sweet Candy per gallon of RO water. They were super quick to germ and were very leggy, but seem to be growing into there leggy trunks now. The 3 that were germinated 6 days back were in the cabinet the others were and while they were super quick to germinate, they did not get leggy like the others. So 3 of them are on Day 6, 5 of them are either D19 or D21. Now the pictures...
