Only been 4 days since my last update, but things have really been cooking - good, and slightly bad points to it.
In total we've now had 5 of 10 seeds make it from the shell, and 4 of those has made it above ground. The last 1 only cracked yesterday, so I still have good hopes for it to make it. As for the remaining 5, I'll leave them where they are to see if anything comes from it, but not so hopeful. Possibly I went for it too early, and they were not ready.
Any hoo, 4 or 5 out of 10 is more than good enough to keep the project going. I have already transplanted the seedlings to their final containers, but 2 seedlings per bucket. They have been under the 250w HPS, on about a 21 / 3 cycle. I might crank it up a little more even, as it's only off to let the equipment cool. Normally I'm only the regular 20 / 4, but spending the extra electric, as it is well cold here & supposedly getting colder. With the light on, the temps are just nice. Better putting it into light, than heat - hopefully.
The seedlings are still quite vigorous, but 2 of them have been very slow to start their first set of leaves. I first thought they had the same issue as the parents, but if you look through a magnifying glass you can just see the starter set. We will have to see how they go in the next week or so.
