Sati-dom Auto Reg Seeds - where to find them?

I have an AVT going right now that was dusted with Onyx pollen that will produce regular seeds. I was thinking of making my own auto sativa (probably using something in the Durban Poison family) that way, but its a 2+ year process to cross and back cross. You could also take one of the regular hybrid autos and back cross it into a sativa dominant auto like Mexican Airlines to shorten the process.

For some reason nobody wants to do regs anymore (we all know what that reason is). Short Stuff has pretty decent auto regs, but nothing with really dominant sativa. I wish Mephisto would sell some regs, man I'd break the bank for those but obviously giving the general public regs is not a very good business model.

Was your Onyx from Short Stuff or Flash? I know they have the same origins...

Why would it take 2+ years? Do you mean to stabilize?
I figure
P1 auto x P1 photo -- grow out, to dried seeds ... 4 months.
F1 ("fast version") x F1 ("fast version") -- grow out to seeds ... another 4 months (8 months total).
F2s 1:2:1 of auto:fast version:photo. Find the autos after maybe 1 month, grow them out another 4. (12 months total).
F2 x F2 ... should be mostly autos, no?

I know real genetics will be more complex, but should have something working by a year.

I just bought a pack of the Almach from the Portal. They look pretty sativa dominant and might be a good start towards producing your own Sativa strains.

Short Stuff post Stitch. I like stitch, but there is a fine line between running a business for stoners and being too stoned to run a business.

I was actually being pretty conservative on the 2 years, it would probably take me closer to 3-4 years to turn a photo reliably into an auto.
Like you I have to do my serious growing outdoors, so I only get one photo season per year. If you figure on at least one back cross back into the photo to solidify the strain - along with the likelihood that none of the F1s will auto so you'll have to see the F2s to pick the candidates to back cross into the photo parents.
If you had a large year round indoor grow area, 2 years to turn a photo sativa into an auto would be pretty easy, but working with the sun requires more paitience.

Haha, yeah have been scoping the Almach recently, too.
I really liked my Fast Buds Green Crack, so the parentage is very tempting.

so I only get one photo season per year.
you can get more generations into a year, the past 2 year I've done an extra generation in a windowsill during winter.
you can't do good selection that way(since you don't see how it'll grow in normal circumstances, and they stay very small so not possible to do a smoketest), but if all you need is an extra generation to make recessive traits re-appear, it does work.

I've found only november-december is really bad, high mortality and plants struggle with the low amount of light(and the warm, dry air rising from my radiator killed quiet a few plants), but seeds started in january do pretty well(another necessary step that slows it down is seed drying, I've found 1-2 weeks drying is obsolutely needed, below 1 week drying nothing will germinate. with 1-2 week drying germination rate is still lower as properly aged/dried seeds, but good enough).

this year I'm even going to squeeze in 3 generations with 1 line, but the 2nd generation is just starting to show sex, so those seeds are going to be ready a bit late in the season, but I think they'll be done just in time for a late last plant-out batch.

Unfortunately where I live I have to keep everything very stealthy. My outdoor grows have to be in the middle of miles of impenetrable marshy thicket and my indoor grow is in a hidden cabinet with a secret magnetic false front. The need for stealth in the southern US is actually what originally got me into autoflowering plants because they are so much more versatile. One thing I am blessed with is patience ;)

I did the Sweet Jack 47 auto outside a while ago.
Very nice. Took her down at 9 weeks. Should have gone longer but I had evil, evil rain, fog, mist and humidity. (90%)
She was about 90cm tall. Nice yield.

Funny you should mention Sannies Jack. Would love to try those, even though they're photos.
Would be so awesome if he bred an auto...
Would even consider getting his reg photos, and breeding into something like the Jack 47...
The Silver Fields also looks good, as the Shackzilla, the Serene, Killing Fields...

So many choices.....

Pity. Please think about doing one, here at AFN!
Well that settles it I'm going to place an order on my sativa hunt! I'll let you know how it goes! I'm an icmagger who found a more comfortable home here with less drama and have been doing my share of reading . When my testicular fortitude grows a bit more I'll tag you in my first journal ever. What did you think of the jack 47 auto? How far along was she trichrome wise at 9 weeks? I've got 6/7 fasts up at the moment and can't wait to see what they bring to the table and hope to use them as a crucial stepping stone into strong sativa bred autos. I'd also like to note that I used an onyx to make my first f1 auto non feminized cross. I'm not sure exactly what status stitch is in but my onyxs were also shortstuff post stitch. I will say when i did extensively exhausting research into stitch I did see he suffered from some form of business sabotage. Now I can't speak as to whether or not that was due to negligence or misplaced trust or was simply an excuse to cover his problems but I haven't seen neary as many problems and good reports now outweighing the bad, I'd like to see what some of stitches gear would do in comparison, I wasn't terribly impressed with the homogeneity in my 10 pack of onyx although I got 100% germination and 7 females, I probably had 3 phenos that were distinct, compared to a few crosses like my f1 afghan Ryder x only I only have 2-3 phenos out of 20 which I imagine is due to the stability of afghan Ryder and any Afghani heritage in onyx as I understand it is like white widow x unknown diesel x White Russian and then severely worked? Cheers mate

Cool. Please tag me when the time comes.
The trichomes on the Jack 47 at 9 weeks -- good.
But ideally I would have like 10 weeks for her.
