Mephisto Genetics Samsquatch×HBSS and Cosmic Queen in Hybrid Soil Amended

Bubbasquanch has those maple leaves I see. Thought it was a cdlc just from pic lmao. Hey I am going to try a hempy soon because I'm out of soil but have buckets, a drill, dyna gro lineup, and a 4 cu ft bag of chunky perlite so that's all I need except a rooting plug. Which brings the question do you use rooting plugs? If so do you presoak with water or light nute solution? What kind of plugs?

No plugs, I just make a little pocket where seed will be planted, and fill pocket with seed starter soil. You gonna use straight perlite? I recommend straight perlite for the bottom of hempy, up to the drain hole. And straight coco or soil on top of that. Or do a 50/50 mix of perlite/vermiculite for the top. Perlite doesn't hold much water, where as vermiculite is like a sponge rock.

Thank you so much. I am going to use straight perlite in the Rez, and perlite/vermiculite for the rest. You recommend a ratio of 1:1? That's more vermiculite than I've read to use. Is that so it doesn't just dry up right away I'm guessing? No coco so I'll prob spring for a pack of rapid rooters, since I have 0 exp with coco and expanding blocks and presoaking etc...
Would a 3.5 g bucket be a good size for one big ass plant(like AvT) in a 3x3 pushing 200w cobs? I don't want it to get like, too big lmao, but don't want to waste space with a too small bucket neither.

Can't speak to the perlite/vermiculite method, never done it. So I'm probably wrong on the ratio, I can say that you could fill up that space with a large strain and 2 to 2.5 gallons of coco. If you have a pet store around, they usually have coco bricks for reptiles. I have used this with great success in the past.

Yea I've def been tossing around the idea of using coco if not hempy, just pots. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread to pick your brain. So you run perlite in the Rez, and straight coco on top? How often do you need to water/flush the Rez during full tilt? I love everything about coco on paper except not having some kind of water delivery system in place. Have read about letting it dry out wreaks havoc on the buffers something about the cec of coco being different than soil/less i dont know.
Mainly want to run a perlite/vermiculite hempy because I have the stuff sitting around I'm all about using what I have and farming environmentaly and economically friendly

Yes straight coco well rinsed and precharged with a light amount of calmag and a+b nutes. Had to hand water twice a day no matter what size hempy I used. 2L or 10L didn't matter, the 10L just grew monster plants. I'd deffo like to watch your grow either way, so tag me in.

Awesome info. Its going to be at least a month until there's enough room anyways I have a 5.1l bucket all taped up(it was white) drilled a hole in it set it forget it. I'm thinking the bottom of a 5 gal bucket cut off for a drain pan so I won't have to remove plant to water later on. Will use a shop vac to evac runoff. Will work out a general nute outline with dyna gro. Prob something simple along the lines of +1ml/g/week grow only until max of 5ml at week 5. Then start with mag pro at week 5 at 2.5 ml/g. This is pretty much my recipe for soil though, so it may be not enough. What kind of nute strength/concentration/ppm do you shoot for?

I can only speak for coco Hempy's, but I like the AN ph perfect coco bloom the whole grow. I shoot for ~ 300 ppm for seedling, 400-500 ppm for veg, up to 700 in flower. Don't think I ever used more than 1.5ml/L of a+b .

I used a lot of cal mag as well up to 2L/L using cobs. But 1ml/L might be enough initially. For bloom booster, I used bloombastic at 2L/G with great results, expensive though. Enzyme helps keep the root zone healthy. Lots of different products you can use. Always ph to 6.0 before feeding. This recipe has served me well.
