Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this so if it's wrong could the mods please move it :bong:

Has anyone used rooting hormone on freshly germinated seeds? I have tried this on my Thunder Bloody Mary as I have read that if that strain has a good root base it will yield pretty good so I decided to experiment and gave it some rooting hormone when I planted it, I did a comparison with my MI5 after a couple of days as they both germ'd at the same time and the TBM had an inch extra of tap root. I'm hoping that this will not affect future growth so if anybody has done this before or can tell me whether I have do the right thing or not?

I apologise in advance if this has already been covered

Thanks :smokebuds:

Loads of folks are using rooting products. One could even use something like Dip n Grow in the soak solution when germ'ing seeds. I use Clonex solution in my soak, as I just haven't purchased Dip n Grow.

Thanks Medicine Man, glad to hear I haven't done the wrong thing, should be interesting to see how this differs from my other babies in the long haul.

Nah, man, roots are the biggest thing with autos. They don't have any recovery time like photoperiod can, so blasting the roots as big as they can get early on will bring the yields.

would adding rooting powder to a soil mix do any good, i was always thinking of doing that but didnt want to risk it.. incase it was stupid.

Iwouldnt do rooting powder in your soil.... theres hormones in there... the less of that ends up in your meds... the better... just keep ph on point and supply adequate light and nutes... and make sure your pot is big enoguh.... and use a good loose soil mix (if soils your gig)

I used to use clonex for clones... I find it unneccesary now.... cres's trick works great... take your cuttng and stick in it your mouth and suck on it for a few ... just to wet it / warm it... then plunk in the soil.... my clones sruvival rates have been the same

make sure the clonbes go in a low light area for the frst week or 2.... and keep humidity high... those are the keys to clone success.

grand, knew there would be a reason not to haha. just curious, no plans to do so.
