Check out the root growth on my hybrid hempy bucket project.
I'm stoked.

Well, mildly successful morning pulling the truck apart!! Even with the hand/arm/back pain, I still managed to strip the box off in about a half hour and get most of the stuff off.. Just need to grind down and punch out a couple more rivets and I can start putting the piece back together..

@ashton was thinking about your Hybrid Hempy system and how you were trying to figure out something to use besides perlite. Since your only using the perlite to support/hold the bucket up. Why not just make a PVC cube to place inside the can to support holding the bucket. Then the roots would be just hang like a DWC.

Ah. The perlite is in the growing bucket. Need larger stuff to keep from coming out the holes. Bucket is sitting on a metal mixing bowl I drilled a ton of holes into. Roots are hanging a little. Next set will be raised a bit more and I really like pvc stand idea. Easy to drill holes into as well. Can even weight it at bottom. Or find aquarium safe glue and glue it and air stone down. I like your thinking. But not the use I need for perlite substitute lol. I guess with being a gun guy you hit even when you miss lol. Good call

@bushmasterar15 I need something to support soil with out too much wash. And big enough to not drain out of holes.
Ok misunderstood and that's to blame on to many bowls before reading. We have stuff called Cinders out here somewhat like Pumice and depending can get it in different grades.
