Joinin the party a little late, but taking up a seat for this one! :pop:

Plants are lookin awesome man! Tough to tell about the males without being able to smell them. I guess it depends on what your goals are for your breeding project. The second one looks like it's a little bigger with more bud sites and it flowered earlier than the other one... might be a good start to breed towards a heavy yielding, early flowering line.

Hey guys... here is a pic of my tallest female, has some good bud sites and looking healthy. My male that i have isolate is starting to drop pollen, I am going to collect some of it and wanting to brush a bit onto one of the bud sites to get more beans.. Is she ready to accept it?

As you can see below this is a lower branch with pistols here is where i am wanting to apply the pollen with a brush... if i can go ahead and do it.. how long will it take for the pistols to accept the pollen? i would hate to pollenate it then put it back into my grow tent to soon then blow the pollen to my other females

selfless bump... don't want to miss my window to pollenate

Thanks all

your girls are looking great.looks like those blackstars are working pretty good for ya.

Im not an expert on this but id give her a couple more days to put some more pistols on as if she acepts pollen now growth will slow, if your worried do one lower buds now

yes she will take pollen now... probably be less beans as there are few pistils yet... but you may not want 100's...

best bet is to spray the plant with a fine gentle mist after pollying... this will do 2 things... set the pollen and after drying, be more ikely to prevent unwanted pollinatin when placed back in Gen population.

dep on temps and transpiration... pistils usually wizen in 2-3 days.... sometimes as long as 4 or 5...

Thanks all for the replys much appreciated

Yea they love the blackstars and they are growing quite fast under them... i am suprised at the change i see every 24 hours

i dunno if you picked a male yet, but if i had to pick one, it would be the one on the right, less leaves through the 'bud' sites will make for an easier to trim bud,

unless of course you want the bushiness of the other male,

why not use pollen from both males but mark the branches you apply pollen from each to,
so put a marker of orange tape on ones pollinated with the plant on the left and a blue tape on the ones for the other plant

that way you'll be able to see if there is any phenotypic difference between the two males and choose based on the offspring which to continue with
