Lighting Quantum board thread.

With that amount of light per square foot I would keep the lights high. I do not know if autos need or prefer more light. But running 20/4 will insure a bountiful harvest.

Wish that is a possibility.
The qb288 is mounted static.
But there is about 30 inches from light to top of medium.
I use a milk crate to raise the plants.
I guess the hps mantra still runs strong in my thinking
(more wattage the better)
This is my first auto run
Northern lites plant 1
Diesel plant 2
Just wondering if putting in this extra panel is worth it.

Hi
My grow area is 2.5 square feet.
I have a Qb 288 running 100 watts
That’s 40 watt per sf.
I’ve allways grown photos.
I am now turning my attention to autos.
From what I’ve read with autos more light the better.
I have another new qb 288 .
I was thinking to add it and boost my wattage to 200, 80 watts per sf.
Would this be beneficial with autos using 20 /4 lighting???
Pros??
Cons???

Thanks!!!!

That's a lot of light for a small space.
Many light companies recommend a 300 actual watt LED for a 3 ft x 3 ft tent, which is 33 watts/sq ft.
50 actual LED watts per sq ft is plenty.

Kinda my thinking
I grow in a cab in a non legal state
Cabs gone over many configurations dureing the last 5 years.
But I have a new qb288 just begging to go in:bighug::smoking::bow::drool::coffee: yep we be quaffing a few brews.... eeeeen eeeee way
I am leaning toward just upping the wattage on the meanwell supplying the installed qb288 to 120 watts and calling it a day.
If this works I’ll probly gift the new unused qb288.
The northern lights is really honking along....

Keep that board as a spare or in case you get a bigger space!

I got my first complete round under the Fotop800 boards with the added red strips finished. I run them super soft and barely pull 450 watt in my 4x4. I had an unexpected issue with the plants getting massively root bound and managed to get 5 ounces plus trim from my best plant. Slightly over 3 from the worst. For the experienced grower this May not sound all that great but I’m happy with it, knowing that next round will be better, with air pots and happy frog/ocean Forrest mix. The soil I was using last had been on it’s third round and likely should not have been reused just like that.
