listen bro i am deff.no expert but i was just like you i had germ issues and it drove me up the wall i will tell you one thing tho if money is not real tight go on ebay or to a hydro store and buy a 60 dollar 3-6 bulb(min-max) t5 set up get a humidity dome and tray for like 10 bucks soak your seeds for 24hrs or until sinks in PH water soak you RRP in PH water gently squeeze out till just damp(no extra germ process needed) plant seed directly into rapid rooter plugs pull piece from side and cover hole(hole is already made in the plug so plant seed and cover up) set the t5 on 24/7 and keep close to the dome as possible keep the humidity dome moist and 2-3 days later you will have healthy seedlings(the heat mat is a plus but i dont have one) just my hope it helps any... (spray the humidity dome with spray bottle) all this info came from +rep people such as MUDDY AND JOE DIRT and many more....
and if push comes to shove just 2 24watt t5's will be enough to germ 5-6 seedlings thats what im using on my first grow and they are growing just fine

growdawg - nothing wrong with repeating info you were given. The last couple of months we have had an increase in new members, especially new to growing members which is great - but it can be taxing on mods to try & keep up with all the questions. All the mods enjoy seeing advice they have given out, get passed forward. It's probably the biggest compliment you can give a mod. So even if Mellow doesn't need it, someone reading the thread I bet will.

UPDATE - 4/16/12.....

I have some very good starts right now. I have 1 AA (Indica Dominant), 3 AA's (Sativa Dominant) and two DD's or PJ's can't remember right now.. Too stoned..... hahahahah

So we have good growth so far. My next time in to check them, I'll get some pics....

I seem to have gotten my germination issues straightened out.

Ok all, I looked while I was not toasted today when I was tending my babies. I have 2 very nice PJ's coming in, 2 DD's, 3 AA's (I dominant), 1 AA (S dominant)!

I checked my soil ph today and it seems to be holding around 6.5 to 6.8.

I feel very good about the PJ's & DD's surviving and I think the AA's are looking better as well.

I am going to wait another week before I start on my nutes at 1/2 strength.

I plan on following FD's feeding schedule.

4/23...... Ok today I tended my babies and I have 2 very nice PJ's, 1 DD, 3 AA's (I.

I have the 2 PJ's in one, 1 gallon... I had one sprout that I thought had died so now I have 2 growing together. If one is a male, I'll whack him at sexing. If they are both girls I am going to LST them so they don't get in each others way too bad. I don't wanna transplant one of them because I am afraid that it will stunt it.

My 1 DD is also looking very good so far. I think I will actually start my nutes at the end of next week on the PJ's & DD.

My AA's are just sprouts, but they are looking good at this point.

I did germ 3 more AA's (S) dominant and I planted them in my promix today.

My numbers have changed as some have survived, some did not.

Hopefully next week I'll be able to give you an actual count of my babies that are going to make it.

When I do that, hopefully I will get some pics of my babies for you all.

Also, I am sorry for mixing my strain counts up. The last of my Mi5 was wicked....haha

Oh, one thing more.. The PJ's and my DD are starting to smell kinda skunky!! Waaahoooooooo...

Howdy all,

I have finally began to snap some pics of my "girls". I hope they all are anyway.



The PJ's & DD are about 9 or 10 days old. The AA's (I) are about 1 week I guess and the AA's (S) are really about 2 days old.

Ok, as you can all see, I have 2 PJ's, 1 DD, 3 AA's (I) & 3 AA's (I).

I will consider 4/16 as the born date for the PJ's & DD as this is when I observed them breaking the soil.

I have to tell you, those PJ's already smell kind of skunky.

I hope that I have some females, but it's too early to tell.
