Hello again I think ive cracked it with the girls! Big Buddha I think it woz the off gassing of the particle board it woz laminate flooring which is a high content of glue or something from what I've read and my hps heating it up making it worse. So I went mad with the lacquer again and coated everything twice till it woz dripping! Lol. Then i baked it dry with my hps and extractor on for a couple days with my plant in another room. Anyway I've got a smell coming through now and it's a nice one! Thanks for all your help everyone ime actualy going to be able to reap my reward on this grow! Touch wood! Hers a few pics of how much better she looks after the last two weeks. And my other one is apparently stinking aswel now
Oh and I just got an ec meter and my tap water ec is .7 this is not good right I've heard of people saying it's .3 .4 but .7 is a bit much isn't it? I've been using mineral water this is probably helping to? Does anyone know if I shouldn't my tap water with that ec? If not i will get a filter or something or bulk buy mineral water but that's a bit of a mission!
Hey, Jeff. My tapwater has an ec of .9 and I can still grow perfectly good plants. It means a few considerations, like not using seaweed in the soil because hardwater has a lot of calcium, so does seaweed, so that can end up causing a cal excess and a locking-out of magnesium.
To be honest, so long as your incorporate the tapwater ec into the overall ec with feed etc you'll be fine. Can't remember if you're in the UK, but if you are I cannot recommend Plant Magic hardwater nutes enough. They balance the cal/mag (and ph) really well.
