Plants never smell at all?

i have to say this last grow of pj was near odorless..... my girl walked in my place and said it smelled sweet inside but nothing like pot at all. It seems pj has an affinity to not smell like ganja at all when growing but man when its dried and starts curing WOW watch out. I had like 4 other strains do this which included blue Himalaya diesel and a few others i cant remember.

The thing that worries me tho is that they all smell sort of the same which is proper strange considering there the different strains. people must think ime talking shit but its actualy happening I can't understand it it's makeing me angry cuz I can't figure it out?

I've had a bit of a think on this and logical deduction leads me to believe that if all your plants are smelling the same (even across growing mediums) then it's because of something that's going into them. That's the common denominator for me that suggests a singular cause.

Now.. unless I'm missing something obvious.. it seems like it could only be nutrients, tapwater, perlite (if also used in hydro) or pathogens.

I'm betting it isn't a pathogen or nutrients (because you'd be using different nutes for soil and hydro) so I'm thinking that the most likely suspect out of the remaining potentials is your tapwater.

I'm going purely on very stoned logic and common sense here so it might be full of holes under a microscope.. but how does that theory sound to you, Jeff?

Yea I've been thinking the exact same sort off things but my the bloke next door grows nice stuff unless it something just to my house I've done loads of stuff between grows to make it better it all seems perfect in there now but they still got no smell? It's puzzleing I think ime guna get an led cuz I am going to grow something good if it kills me! Ile put the led in my room and the hps in the barn and give it rain water and see if it is any different? I wanted to get it right with my cheap hps like ive seen so many others do before buying a £300 led but I cant think off anything else i can do? The worst thing is the buds are nice looking but it's like the smell and stickiness is getting drawn out some how it's hard to explain. I slow dryed it and cured it but none of it woz any good. thanks for ur time buddha and everyone sorry for asking a random question i hoped someone might have had something similar :-s

It is a puzzle isn't it fella. It could well be something isolated to your home's water supply.. Rainwater is actually very good for weed because of its nitogen content.. just make sure it's ph is good and the butt isn't full of nasty crap and you're fine to use it. Many use rainwater only. But I suppose this brings us onto the process of elimination. If you change the water I reckon it will take a week or two before you start noticing any difference. If you do, you'll know it's our tapwater. I keep saying I can't think of anything else and then another idea pops ino my head.. which is your plant pots. Are they all the same? Maybe offgassing something?

I know EXACTLY how you feel Jeff. I'm now bald as a result of 4 months of mystery problems, so I know the pressure you're feeling. All I can do is say that you've got to start eliminating from the list of potentials. And I know it's unlikely statistically.. but it may just be that all of your nutrients have somehow gone bad.. or were all dodgy beforehand.

Some form of material is getting into those girls from somewhere.. and that limits the possibles so one at a time they need looking at.

This is driving me crazy now too. We have to find the answer man. :peace:

Oh.. one question.. you're not using water wetter are you?

This thread interests me a lot wish I had an answer but would love to hear the answer. You have any pets?

how often are you exchanging the air in the gr per hour day per hour night if at all?
where is your fresh air coming from?
any materials like exposed particle board or hard wood floors?

Ive been thinking about that off gassing thing my pots r one air pot and a dwc small bucket before that I just used normal pots from the garden centre. I do have a dog but only had him 3 months. I've got a bathroom extractor pulling air from my soffit through my box and back out to the attic it used to suck air from my room but changed it so they get loads of fresh air. My nutes are all new I brought an cuz there made for weed apparently and ime not botherd about cost cuz I only grow a couple at a time anyway. I do have mdf in my box and open plywood I laquered the whole inside and lett it dry with extractor on for a week then put the Mylar back cuz I woz thinking the wood could be effecting it somehow aswell can wood or particle board have an effect? I think I need to test another little grow Somewere and see if the results are any different. I don't know I mite give my plant to my mate and see if it gets smelly in his room but use my water if it doesent it's the water if it does it's something in my environment do u think this would be worth a bash?

Mornin Jeff.. threatened to kill anyone yet today? I know I would have by now :D

Ok.. so pots come off the list because airpots are good.. do are DWC pots.

Anything you can do to start eliminating potentials can only be a good thing so if you can safely get her to your friends house and that confims something either way.. why not? Could be a god way to kill two birds with one stone.

Now, I do know that plywood / MDF offgasses and can be toxic for plants.. but if you've laquered it that should have prevented any leaks. Then again.. maybe the laquer itself is offgassing something plants don't like, too?

By the way my apologies if I'm going over old ground.. not my intetion I'm just thinking out loud to try and focus.
