Howdy, I live around the 46th parallel and am patiently waiting for night time temperatures to rise steadily over 50 degrees. I'm going to germinate next week in jiffy pods and after a week of hardening set the pods into my amended direct in ground spots. I am going to prep the spots and I've gathered from reading here that no nutes for the first week or so. I am going to have a lil Voodoo Juice and Super thrive in the seedling soil and deeper into my super soil/native mix. The question I have is how deep should I go with the seedling soil before I start the good soil? I want to ease the ladies into it and of course not burn them until they can take the nutes! Any advice would be helpful thanks!

46th nice! 45th here...good call on the waiting to start until a bit later if you don't have lights. I've found cold nights have a negative impact on autos when hit during early seedling/vegetative stage of growth. I've been utilizing LED lights during the night and the sun during the day on nice warm days(autos are on day 26 currently).
So what size of pots are you using...are you planning on transplanting them, or are they in peat pots or smart/air pots?

Thanks man, it's been periods of warm and cool and figured no need to get in a big hurry and stunt them. I was thinking I'd get the seeds to crack then drop the seedlings in jiffy pods for the first week. I am going to go direct into the ground with them. I was thinking set the pods into a 4" layer of seedling/starter soil. Then have amended soil with npk, redisoil, perlite, bone meal, and worm castings down to 1'. Then a lil lighter on the N, but heavier mix of PK, peat, and above amendments down to 3'. Do you think this is a decent way to go for direct to ground seeding? I've also got the hobbyist bundle of voodoo juice, b52, big bud, and overdrive on the way along with some superthrive. I hope I have good results using them in the soil. Since this is my first grow I am not sure what the roots are going to do. I can't see them pushing super deep but what do I know! The site it on a hillside so drainage shouldn't be an issue. Good luck with your girls!

Hey man, I believe I read here somewhere that the Superthrive product is not a good companion with organic ( which it appears your doing organic?) so you may want to search around and see if you can find more info. It sounded good to me at first too. Your plan sounds good otherwise.

Sound like a good plant indeed! I have not used superthrive in many years, but would be interested to hear about research into what jraven was talking about. You are going to laugh at this...I dig shallow wide holes. One shovel and a half deep that's it, and grow massive photo plants(3lbs+). Side feeder roots stretch out far.

All right a couple thumbs up and I'm feeling good about my game plan! I checked it out and apparently it is kinda natural. Some ingredients are synthesized (cheaper than naturally derived I assume), so it can't be labeled organic. I am gonna go for it and use it. That's crazy about the hole description, its alot of work digging a monster hole and if the plant won't utilize it why make extra work and expense for yourself. I dug mine Monday and did 2' wide 1.5' deep bells flared at the bottom. Then I took the posthole digger and went another 1.5" straight down in the center. I was thinking it would be good for the taproot possibly. It definitely should help with drainage. We had 1.5" of rain and later when I checked them they were empty despite the bottom being clay. I will update on my progress once I get em going!
