New Grower OGbaby - The Second Genesis

Thinking about it though, that second seedling could just be coming from the same seed as the first. I've had it happen and I've seen it on here a few times as well.

:jaw: same roots, twice the budsites?

Thanks, I'll definitely let it sit for a few days now just til it can stand up straight like you recommended. The lights just went out tho, so it might take a lil bit longer. I still don't know where I'm going to transplant it yet. But back to one seed sprouting two seedlings, how did they come to find out it shared one seed and how did they manage the grow? Very interesting, maybe I won't have to transplant it if I can find a healthy compromise. hmm

Anybody else have any thoughts and/or advice to throw my way?

Nah OG dont have a log going for this go round. Got 2 photos going, 1 is a fem. white widow and the other is a bag seed a friend gave me. They will be 3 weeks young on Monday. Then I got 1 fem/auto from 00 seeds that I threw in there and she is on day 3. Not sure what my fem/auto seeds are cause it was a mix pack of 5 from 00 Seeds. Thought i would get this grown then start a journal, kinda work out the kinks if yah know what I mean. But yeah when these are finished I'll do the 4 beans i got left and run a journal on that grow. But Im sub-up to watch yah hit a home run on this one for sure. :smokebuds:

Stop misting the seedling. I never recommend misting (imho). Just water the plant normally when required. Plants use the water to convert it into a form of energy using the root system. The leaves do not use the water. I've never misted and all my plants have been healthy. The only time i mist is if a seedling has risen with its seed stuck to it: in any other case, i highly do not suggest misting.

Actually, cannabis leaves can absorb water and nutrients through the same stomata on the underside of the leaf that let in CO2. The practice of feeding plants through their leaves is called foliar feeding. You can find all sorts of gardening foliar sprays online.

Here's an article on Cannabis Culture written by Ed Rosenthal: Foliar Feeding

He explains it a bit more in depth and also goes into some of the cautions and precautions of doing it. Good read if anything :smokebuds: I only address this as I used a spray bottle on all my germinated seeds/seedlings on every grow I've ever done. Water with the right pH, the frequency of the spraying is probably the biggest thing. It's so tempting to think you need to water more than you actually should; I've water logged and suffocated several lost ladies :hot: But you quickly learn how much is enough.

Foliar spraying can also be used to quickly treat nutrient deficiencies. I'm not saying it's for everyone; I rarely do it past the seedling stage, but I think you should take a peek at it and see if it's a fit for your arsenal of growing!

Hope that helps explain a bit! :karma Cloud: :beast:

Ogbaby welcome to AFN! Max :slap: for a great introduction and a great vibe! I love that you have obviously read before hand, planned etc! Your WELL on your way to a successful grow!
You most definitely can grow two plants in the same pot if it's 3gals with no problems! I see many members doing multipot grows, I've myself grown two gals in a 2gal airpot. And if I read correctly you planted a hr auto mix bean right? Maybe you'll be lucky and get a male, than though it will suck to have seeded weed for your first grow it will give you tons of beans to practice your growing skills on and you can experiment like mad without worrying your wasting seed....
I know my biggest problem my first grow (well was really second time but previous was 6-7 years ago) was I was mucking with my plants ALL DAY LONG wreaking havoc on them as I didn't want to let nature take her course and though checking in on the seedling sometimes hourly would will it to grow... I think if you just watered your plants Monday is WAY WAY to soon to water again, maybe an ounce about two inches away from seedling to promote the seedling to search for the water and establish it's roots better. Biggest noob mistake is overwatering it seems.... We just love our babies oh so much! Sometimes even loving them to death... just be mindful the seedling doesn't stretch to much (you can take a look in my high rise grow thread and see what a stretched seedling looks like, yea I
F-ed up.
Sending you one big :karma Cloud: for your grow!!!!

That's very new to me, I'll make sure to read this. Thank you for the excellent source!!

Thanks man! As much as I want to reap the most as possible from my first harvest, I will be just as grateful having picked up the knowledge and skill to grow my own tree. Here's to goodvibes & grow karma for your now and the next. :gthumb:

No, these are auto's. I just recently realized I may have confused the labels around but their definitely Autos from HighRise. Thanks for dropping by though, I decided to keep both plants and since considering this is my first grow I figured I would chalk it up as a learning experience. I'll knock two birds with one stone (or pot lol): learning on growing/curing and Low Stress Training. Most importantly tho, I don't have anywhere to transplant the Ghaze x C99 x C99 fem (OR Highrise Auto Mix) to and would rather not cut her down.

Any advice or tips you learned on mutli-plant growing would be highly appreciated Sniper, thanks again for taking an interest tho.

Goodlook on the link Vapor. I'm goin to give it a read, sound interesting. Do you only spray the underside of your seedlings and have you ever fed a grown adult plant via it's foliage? I'm guess it would help if the plant can quickly absorb the feed it needs directly from foliar feeding, instead of drinking it from the soil when under nute defs - fast acting. I can also see how one can water log a plant this way, especially if their heavy handed during watering times in the 1st place. Goodstuff, thx for the info.

:stylez rasta smoke: What's up yoda! Appreciate the kind words & rep slap man. I really did try to read everything I could, not just to hit the ground running, but also because all this info was so damn interesting lol

After reading a bit around here and elsewhere, I came up to the conclusion that there would be enough info and support to to guide me through. I promised myself before I started that I would worry more about the experience, technique, knowledge, and naturally picking up a skill then worrying too much about the end result. Focus more on quality, and focus on quantity later. Plus, I get to learn LST early and work out the kinks so I'm atleast better off for my next grow. And I won't even mind the seeds, if It can save me $$$ from buying more. lol, especially if I can become a mad scientist too :smoke:

I realize tho that this is going to be challenging, and maybe moreso on my part because I'm new and this is only my first grow...but I always been hard headed. :X's Evil Laugh x: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Great tip! I'll be sure to utilize that. Can they actually sense/feel water nearby? Thx again yoda

from my experience the late germ one will be smaller cause the other has a jump on building roots try and keep the bigger one lst'd so light can get to the smaller one
