New Grower NL autos

NL autos day 49 still chuggin along
What can I say other than I am learning what I will do different on the next grow. The girls are surviving in spite of my errors. Have done some serious defoliation due to cal mag, light distance, low RH and watering errors. I don't like to defoliate except as a light thinning. The plants like to use up those leaves when they are finishing.

Its been difficult to get the lighting dialed in as the plants aren't all that healthy. Recommended height is 12-18" for flower yet with the troubles they have had, I raised the lights to 22 inches. I also picked up a 9 inch fan that i hung in the tent to really get some air moving. Those 6" clip on's are gutless. Also got a humidifier to raise the RH a bit. And I have a more powerful exhaust fan on the way too. The 110cfm fan pushing air through 12 feet of duct is a bit weak.

For a strain that is easy to grow, I sure have made it difficult:rolleyes1:

I've been trolling @Garage_Grower and have picked up useful information from his journal. Much appreciated.

hey now, nobody ever said NL was easy to grow...where the heck u hear that-?? :smoking: ppp

Hey bud, if you read through my journal and end up just taking one piece of info away from it, then it’s served it’s purpose! When I started out on here over a year ago, I didn’t have a clue on how to do anything related to growing canna! Through the help of everyone on here, I now have a solid grasp of what I’m doing. That’s why I do these journals now, to give back to anyone else who may have questions about what they are doing!
:pass:

I’ll read through this journal this evening once I’m off the clock. Looks nice just by those last few pics though!

Right on. I got rid of most of the deteriorated leaves so they look cleaner in that way. I'm stumbling along having fun. Growing my own medicine:meds: in the winter months is something to do. I'm disabled and retired so I got the time.

Come the spring its back to familiar territory outside in the earth. I'll start building the soil end of February so it can cook and cool off for a couple months. Unless I decide to run Mega Crop, then I wouldn't make supersoil. We can grow 4 here, so 2 autos and 2 photos. I'll try to get 2 runs of autos outdoors.

I'm the same way with the journal. It will be here for others to get a laugh  from and hopefully learn a few things not to do. :peace::peace: an take good care

Hi Kyote,

Hey, your girls are trucking along. They should respond to the Megacrop once you get your mitts on it.

I have to ask as well, who says that NL is easy? No brand new setup indoors is easy the first time around, not as far as I can tell anyway. The one good/bad thing about NL is that it is a long winded bugger. More room for screwups, but more time to recover. Your ladies have some time yet to suck up some megacrop and put their dancing shoes back on.

When do the new nutes arrive?

Good luck with it. :goodluck:

Thanks for visiting my photo journal, I can say for the calmag with the LED's if I don't pretty much feed every time with it, it gets out of control fast.
Everything looks good for your first run indoors, especially when you are used to growing outside.

Yes i see the need for calmag and will use it on the next grow. Going to use Greenleaf nutes next grow. Making a few other changes too

What do you think about the fast flowering photos? I've been reading up on those where flowering is 45 to 50 days. I always fought with sativa's outdoors as I live around the 49th parallel and the sativa's would want to go into the middle of November which wasn't possible due to the weather and daylight. I'd like to try a sativa dominant FF this next outdoor season.

Thanks for stopping by!:peace:

I was skeptical about the quick strains, then got sponsored with free seeds for a battle, Dinafem Quick Critical + and Quick Kush and MAN was I impressed. I have those in that photo thread as well, and I did a journal for them too. I am growing two more QC+ now, I had been cloning one but let it go and want to get her back into circulation again.
I'm growing Panama and another sativa inside now, man it's fun but all about management!

NL autos day 56
Well the girls are hanging in there. I'm nursing them along best I can at this point after multiple errors. Here's Grace, named after Grace Slick. She's the farthest along. There's been a few times where I almost chucked them and started over, yet as long as they hang in there, I'll hang with them. Nutes, ph, lighting, watering have all been off.
