New Grower First Grow: Flash Purple Mazar & 1 Seedsmans Northern Lights Fem Auto

Thanks for all the positives. This site is pretty awesome. I love growing weed, but it sucks you can't really be open about it in real life. This site makes up for that pretty well. It's also nice talking about weed without the eye rolling judgments that a lot of people feel like it's their job to disapprove.

I still have a nl going, but I think I f-ed that one up enough that the yield won't be very good for the size.

Thanks again everyone!!!!

I've been slacking since I chopped.

I'm pretty much done my grow at this point.

I still have a seeded branch going on a Purple Mazar that will be getting chopped soon, as well as some bottom branches on the Northern lights.

Everything took about five days to hang dry, then went into jars. The First Mazar is finally below 65% rh so I'll be burping those jars every 5 days or so for a week or two. The other two are still btwn 75-70.

Here's the dry weights (minus some buds I "tested" and what is still on the plants)

Mazar 1: 1.75 oz
Mazar 2: 1.5 oz
Norther Lights 1.4 oz
4.65 oz total !!! (131.825 grams)
I'll bet what I still have growing would comfortably make for an even 5 oz.

This is the whole harvest, I chopped the branches off for the weigh in

As far as smoke reports go my palate isn't very refined (yet) The mazar is REALLY fruity, not a lot of skunk in smell or taste. The high is solid but not mind blowing. The nl (though not cured yet) is piney and skunky, what you'd expect from decent weed. I can't speak clearly on the high as of yet. I'll do a better job of this once everything is cured.

Well I guess that's it. Not sure if I'll do another journal anytime soon. Maybe in a couple grows, after some upgrades.

Thanks everyone for the good advice and support. I'm certain my first crop would not have been even close to as awesome as it is without it!

I would like to know more about your lighting like when you swiched from blue to red cfl or if you used both, what was the total wattage used at for flowering. Also a smoke report would be nice on how these babys taste. Great grow!!!

Hey man no prob.

I sortta lost track of all the specific wattages but I'll try. I switched over around week 3-4. I have 4 each 45 watt red and blue (I think the blues are actually 42) and 5 26 watters. When I switched I only switched the big bulbs initially. I thought It'd be a good idea to have some blues in there since they're kinda vegging and blooming for weeks 3-5 or so. I had 2 26 watt bulbs pointing from the ground up when the canopy got full, the rest were all up top. So that makes for like 250 watts up top and 50 below for most of the flowering. My buds are pretty fluffy. I think that had to do with cfls in general, and there was a major height difference in a small cabinet so it was hard too keep the lights close on the shorter two.

How was the odor during growing the purple mazar? Is a carbon filter necessary?

Odor was an issue, not crazy strong but enough to notice. If odor control is a concern, the best money I spent on gear was the can filter.

Wow mate, this purple mazar is very very nice... good job!

what about the smoke? did u liked it?

Thanks Stitch, I hope I did your seeds right.

The smoke is sweet and fruity, def does the job for a couple hours. I'm itching to try some more but I'm going to run with this strain for a bit, in fact I just popped a couple in soil yesterday for my second grow.

Thanks for making nice seeds.
