New Grower First Grow: Flash Purple Mazar & 1 Seedsmans Northern Lights Fem Auto

ph... you say a tad sour.... what was the reading?

with 14 days to go i wouldnt give em much... sounds like maybe a slight ph issue showing... when was last feed?

ph vs uptake.gif

also a little yellowing last few weeks is ok provided you dont have a ph issue... yellowing at the end is often due the plant pulling its final nutrients out of the leaves...

The Mazars are showing signs of what look like nitrogen deficiencies, in like 20% of the fan leaves. According to the breeders stats my earliest chop is about 16 days away. I'm torn about letting it go or trying to give it one more flush/feeding. They won't need water 'till I hit the 2 week mark. The trichs are clear right now, though I only have a 10x loup. Water uptake had slowed, and last watering the run off was on the acidic side. also I have a branch of seeds to consider. I'd post pics but it looks like a textbook n def for sure.

I'd love some opinions.
I might give it a good flushing and feed one last time or maybe just ph'd water, considering you have a branch with seeds.

btw, never go with what a breeder says, it's different with all growers depending on how locked in you are with the strain and growing, these breeders got their shit dialed in. just my :2cents: maybe someone else can chime in. best wishes, savoy. aloha :peace:

might be able to just adjust the ph back in and spare all the shock...

but good advice BJ

you should just watch the trichs and harvest for whats best for you... earlier / clearer more head high... later amberer... body stone / more medicinal...

Really good stuff guys thanks.

They got bloom nutes a couple days ago. The ph was 5.5-6 (didnt have the digital meter then).
It's a tough call. I guess I'll flush, put some lime and maybe a half dose of nutes and call it a day.

Week 9 Day 59?

Well I'm in the home stretch with the pms. They got lime and water a few days ago, and are a lot less thirsty than they have been. I'm seeing a littlle bit of purple here and there. 10 days or so 'till chop. It looks like the trichs are cloudier of late. I broke open a seed pod on the fertilized branch and there def was a green seed inside I hope there's enough time to finish. I think I waited a week too long, I was following the ditch the dealer guide:

and I think his plants mature longer than mine. I'll probably just let that one go until its mostly amber. If not I've got 4 more seeds. I pollinated the nl a few days ago since it was such a late bloomer. I doubt there's enough time, and I don't think I stored my pollen right. It was a deeper gold color and pretty clumpy. I didn't put the vial in the freezer right away, I figured it could sit out until I was done pollenating this batch. That, and I made a silica pack out of tissue paper and med tape. I'll bet the moisture of the glue on the tape was too much as well. One thing I've learned in this first grow is that most of my DIY stuff didn't pay off. I'm going to write up a synopsis of the grow at the end to sum up mistakes and lessons learned.

Also I've been obsessing over future upgrades. I have a spot under some stairs I'm debating. I could wall up and seal it, or build a modest cab of sorts inside the walled up space, or fit a 2x2x6 (75x75x160 for the rest of the world) budbox tent and have a little storage. The most important thing is stealth followed by useful grow space. Walling and sealing offers the most, 8-10 plants 6 comfortably. I think I could have 4-6 plants with the other alternatives. Asthetics are important too, I like it when things are clean and clinical. If anybody has some lessons learned advice, I'd like to have the next move be my final big investment.

I have a couple bud shots through my loupe from a week ago that tuned out reasonably well. They've gotten cloudier since.

That's it for this week. I plan on doing a detailed chop/dry/cure update on my way out, the next couple weeks should be exciting!

WEEK 10! Day 65

Getting close! I have a strong desire to chop, I tried a sample and my god, exactly what I need. I have a really hard time getting to sleep at night and this s... knocks me out. One popcorn bud from the Mazar kept me high for two hours and made me very sleepy.

Now let's get to business. The Mazar's fan leaves are more and more yellow everyday. They've been on just water for almost 2 weeks, last watering they each got a gallon with black strap molasses (2 tsp ea.) The trichs however are all cloudy, I can't find an amber one anywhere. I've read a bit and found some threads that say with autos you don't always see amber. I cut out a few excess light bulbs over the mazars thinking that will help trigger whatever end of life cycle happens. Something that has me concerned is there's a little yellowing starting to happen in the bud leaves, is it possible to wait too long to chop? If anyone want's to give me an opinion, I could really use it. I'm not going to pull an over-eager noob move and chop early, so whatever direction anyone wants to offer I won't ignore it and chop anyway.

The Northern lights is looking as ragged as ever, but the buds are really bulking up. I'm not going to try to rectify the deficiencies at this point. That plant has had issues since week 4 that I've never managed to figure out. Next grow I'll definitely have cal mag in my arsenal. I gave her a little extra tiger bloom last watering because it has cal & mag in it.

The first three pics are the Purple Mazars with a bud shot to hopefully get some chop input with, the last is the mammoth nl and its troubled life cycle.

Looking Good Bro..Well Grown...........

When you are suffering from Insomnia...check your Body Temperature when you Wake-up..
Recent Homework says that if your temperature is Too Low...you will get insomnia

If it is...something like mild exercise..circulation boosting foods..or sex

might help..

I haven't Tested the thoery yet..but I know the Conventional sleep aids don't work for me...
If you are the same.. it is worth a few minutes of you time to check your temps..and see if this could be the cause..:wiz:

Another temperature clue occurs first thing in the morning before you raise
from your bed. Dr. Broda Barnes, found that a healthy before-rising morning
basal temp should be between 97.8 – 98.2.

Yeah conventionals take the edge off but don't really do much. I'll look into it with the temp thing, good advice-thank you. part of the trouble is I have a second shift job, so i get home when others are getting ready for bed.
